Just ordered a Kenwood DMX1057XR with a 10.1 screen from crutchfield. On backorder but supposed to be in stock 1/15/2021

Not sure how its going to look in my 4th gen. The screen will overlap onto the dash vents a little bit i think.

Going to keep my JBL audio system. (unless I change my mind)

Also ordered the RR2 interface module and adapters.

Looking for a backup camera to match the hi def screen (1080x720).

Will post pics when done. Have not seen any pics of this in a 4runner yet.

Finally got it installed. Looks good everything works. added dash cam and rear cam. Gages work. Not an easy job. Have more pictures of the install if interested. I did have a problem feeding the rear camera wire through the tailgate along the left side of the window. I got it working with a temporary routing.
See new picture below with monitor adjusted all the way up. (this is all the way down)

This picture with the guage display showing is with the monitor adjusted to the all the way up positiion. (about 2" higher then above pic that was blocking the center console dash temperature display. I like this position. Really like this unit after a couple of days of use.

Like this KENWOOD dms1057xr head unit setup more all the time. With the kenwood drv-520 dash cam. Kenwood CMOS-740HD backup cam.

    cool features:
Collision avoidance and departure delay ( with dash cam)
back cam with guide lines sync with steering.
Cell phone calls, android auto (wireless), usb for music or videos, upload pictures to monitor.
    Steering wheel buttons work.
connected to the OBD (On Board Diagnostics) port, displays the DTC (Diagnotic Trouble Codes)
    also displays guages

    audio controls are fantastic.
Sounds great with my JBL system (I think the 5 volt pre-amp output makes a big difference)
