Yeah, im not sure youll need/want a diff drop.

If thats what shops are asking for, I'd do it for half that. So if your in the central pa area

If the main reason of getting a shop to do it is for building the coil overs, any tire shop will do it for less than $100. Then you can install the rest of the lift on your own.

I wouldn't do it on my own if it's going to take the rest of my life. ;)

Mr. Wheel Deal sells them for $826 (it was $825 a couple of weeks ago) and I asked Custom Offsets to price match it. Took a day or two, but no biggie.

Shipping was free. Just added sales tax.

If it's any help at all I had Eibach themselves install the parts I purchased from them for $500.00 with an alignment. Dropped if off at 7:30 AM and picked it up at 12:30 PM. Came out to $100/hr.

Have you looked at the "no spring compressor" method? It takes less than an hour per front corner with very simple tools and a floor jack. The rear springs and shocks are also very simple.

I ordered a preassembled kit so I don’t think I’ll need a spring compressor? Honestly might just tackle the install on my own and save myself $800+. How difficult is the install with just one person?

It's not tough, I did the fronts on my own in about 3 hrs.
Plenty of great videos on youtube to follow along with.

Bought our rig from these guys, they are fucking hacks. D & R in Columbus, OH had to straighten out the fucking mess they made. Use these knuckleheads and expect to get cleaned by the all American Mike Fuller.

@K-Paul, don't mean to be a smartass with you. But these guys are fucking clowns.

No, you won’t need the spring compressor. Take your time & be safe and it is easy solo. The one bit of advice I will give that may save you some error codes and $: take a couple of minutes with a 10mm wrench and just remove the wheel speed sensor wire from bottom to top and zip tie it off to the UCA. If you “stretch” one it will cause you some ABS, ATRAC, 4x4 and other error codes. It will cost you about $70 iirc to get a new wire if one gets messed up. An extra 5 minutes on each end is worth the savings and having to wait for the wire to come in, meanwhile no 4wd…

D&R on hudson St? Man small world, not sure what your experience was that you needed D&R, they are usually working on Lambo's and Ferraris from the Toy Barn. (Repairs for body work) Very cool operation

    Yep, small world indeed.

Only Dobinson dealer/installer in Ohio. Took the rig down gave Matthew my punch list and he and his crew went to work. These guys are mechanics, they solve problems they don't create them.

@jx316 I mentioned looking at crikeymikes (dobinsons dealer) video for installing the coilovers. The method he shows is to undo the LCA from the spindle and lower shock bolt , loosen the LCA bolts to the frame, and simply lower it down out of the way. Undo the top bolts of the shock, and just take it down from the bottom. Reverse for install. This method was easy, and did not require loosening steering knuckles, and the spindle stayed in place. If you do this method, you wont have to worry about snagging a loose abs line either since it will stay attached. Watch videos and rehearse it in your head, be patient, and you’ll be fine.

edit: make sure that you do final torque of the LCA frame bolts with weight on wheels. If you tighten them while it’s in the air, you’ll wreck your the rubber LCA bushings.

his video was the only reason I had faith to even tackle this DIY. I’ll probably end up doing this sometime in the next week or two.

Anybody in here know how much an estimate should run me if I were to upgrade to King suspension with lift? (4Runner “noob” here lol)

It's really not that difficult to do. Go watch a few videos and maybe grab a buddy and a 6 pack. Should take you about 5 or 6 hours, you can rent a spring compressor from AutoZone, or they are around $40 on Amazon.

I did mine myself in my garage with no prior suspension experience and it took me about 8 hours, and that was taking my time.
