My dash lights pulse quickly and it seems to be connected with the speed of the engine as the pulsing slows down as the engine warms up and idles down. Had the alternator checked and it was fine. The battery was only holding about half a charge so I replaced it and yet the dash lights still strobe. What could cause that?

bad ground or bad rheostat - check your grounds next to the fuse box on the interior and in the engine bay / on the engine - make sure they're tight and clean
