Get out of here with all of that responsible shit! :duel:

Lol! Seriously, though, @4runGirl88 seems like good people.

    CHEERS!

Welcome back! And, cheers to enjoying things in moderation. :)

Quality over quantity! I have a friend who works for a liquor distributor. I recently was at his house and made a comment about how I could never see tequila as a sipping drink. Well, he proved me wrong. He brought out two different things, I Don't recall what they were. But, what I do recall, is that they were magical.

Casamigos is now on my radar. :)

I'm thinking about Mexican food and a 24oz 805. The cantina freezes the mugs so you get a little ice floating up in the beer

805 is actually a Blonde Ale (and not a very good one, IMO).

I think it's the worst beer Firestone makes to be honest, but it's got a cool can and there's a lot of local pride over it because 805 is the area code in which it's made. It's an easy drinking, relatively flavorless beer and that probably contributes to it's popularity because it's closer to Coors, Miller, or Bud Light.

Yes, we all have different tastes but there are way better light beers out there.

Blondes have been hit or miss for me. Keweenaw makes one called "Pick-axe" that I like a lot. Unfortunately, I have to drive a few hours north just to buy it. Luckily, the gas station we stop at on trail days carries it. :D

Nimby is totally correct! It isnt a "good" beer per se. A touch more flavor than a Coors etc but it goes good with Summer day drinking and Mexican food! Haha! Time and place for everything!
Story time: A good friend of mine is in alcohol distribution for the Western United States. Knowing that I do a lot of home brewing, he took me to Vegas for a national brewers and cicerone convention. We were out after the convention with the cicerones and they kept ordering blondes like Coors PBR etc. I had to ask why obviously. They said sometimes you just want to drink and not have to analyze the flavors or get drunk! It was funny sitting there with world class tasters drinking blondes and cream ales haha!

Cheers! Looks delicious! And, it looks like you are in a beautiful place!
    .
I'm learning to make daiquiris, as it has been decided that the rear 120V receptacle is best to be used for making drinks.

So far, I've learned that traditional daiquiris are not blended. And, they're deceptively strong! :toast:

Oh no, the back of our 4Runners- another place to make drinks!!? LOL

Port Aransas. Small fishing town on a barrier island on the coastal bend of TX. Been coming here since I was old enough to drive and not quite old enough to drink. :)

My grandkids are now the 4th generation of our family to enjoy this wonderful place.
    (Not so quiet any longer)

Though he didn’t drink, my father made (frozen) daiquiris at every family gathering. I don’t do frozen drinks. Traditional gin drinks mostly. And single malt whiskies. And wine with dinner. Preferably old world wines.

    Cheers.

Sounds like paradise! I can't wait to get down to the gulf in a few months. It's very cool that you carry on a family tradition like that!

I haven't tried making the frozen kind of daiquiri yet, but I need to figure out how to justify a truck blender for my portable bar setup.

I've drank a lot of Gin this year. I've been drinking Beefeater with lime and club soda, or "diet cocktails" as I refer to them.

I found this pale ale, after hanging out with my youngest, in Damascus, at the chicken shack, Wicked Chicken, iirc. I thought it to be hoppy and appropriately flavorful.

    It's true.

I work in the brewing industry as a Quality Assurance person / Lab Analyst.

Although the big breweries don't make the tastiest beers, there is a lot of respect for them in the industry due to their ability to make consistent beer time and time again. That's extremely difficult and they deserve huge props for being able to pull that off.

Back to 805 for a second......there's nothing technically wrong with 805. It's just a relatively bland, so so beer (again, my opinion). I'm certain there are many brewers over at Firestone that HATE making that beer (and hate that it's their most popular beer). But being that it's so popular, that one beer probably pays all of their bills for the entire year and affords them the ability to make all the other fantastic beers they make.

I learned a long time ago that in the brewing industry, you (the brewery) don't get to decide what your most popular beer is. The customer decides that. And sometimes the customer is stupid and like flavorless, odorless beer.

Good morning drinkers!!!! I am jumping the gun a little here but Sunday morning Irish coffee using a recipe I got from Dublin Ireland's most award-winning Irish coffee maker when we were there on our honeymoon!
    Preheat the glass
    A strong roast
1-2oz Jamison whiskey depending on glass size
    Tablespoon of dark brown sugar
Mix and top with homemade whipped cream
    Whipped cream:
    Full fat heavy whipping cream
    Vanilla extract
    Powdered sugar to taste
Whip till thick but still flows
Pour into spoon resting on top of coffee to keep layers separate PXL_20221106_155307978.jpg

So far so good, the hemi flys when putting that pedal down, even when on it just a little driving nice moves like a feather. Only time will tell with everything else though. I learned everything at this point in time can have issues and is never 100% perfect. She’s a thirsty girl though that’s for damn sure, 32 gallon fuel tank that likes 89 to.

Thank you! And, same to you!

It's going to be interesting. I went to my ex's brother's house for Thanksgiving almost every year since 2000. Tomorrow, I'm making a dumbed down Thanksgiving dinner for my son and I.
