So there's a steal of a deal near me for a full king suspension set up only thing that's it's not extended travel. Would yall cough up the extra money for long travel or take the deal. He's asking 2.2k brand new in box.

The extra travel is an extra 1/4" of downtravel because a spacer is removed. You can always convert with a rebuild. It will still be a great shock setup and you won't need upper control arms.

LT is a whole different animal and more money.

Think it's worth the money for lt, I don't mind paying more but 2k Is a steal on kings especially rn with lead times.

Don't mix up the types. You'll need 8" travel shocks for LT, the 6" off the shelf extended travel shocks are not LT and wont work with LT.

I purchased new and got the extended travel Kings but I wasn't in a hurry to get them so I waited 8 months. I'd say most won't notice a difference and at some point you'll have to rebuild them so you can change them over then. So I guess either way you'll have to wait if you want the extended travel unless you have them rebuilt before installing.

do you really need LT? personally, i'd probably go with a different platform if LT was my goal.

Like @whippersnapper02 stated, extended travel on Kings is only 1/4" difference (in the front) due to an internal spacer that can be removed during a rebuild. For the most part, you're not going to know the difference...

I was told to go with lt since I already had aftermarket ucas but I don't mind not getting them if there's not much difference.

LT (long travel) and EXT (extended travel) are two completely different things

Are they adjustable? For my money I would get those as long as they have adjusters. If I'm not mistaken the ones without adjusters run higher psi. I could be wrong.

I highly doubt it. At least non Kings world adjusters set to 0 = the valves are fully open pretty much only to be used on road. So I highly doubt non adjustable shocks = adjusters set to 0.

i'll leave on this note, you don't NEED adjusters just like you don't NEED King shocks. All nice to have, but not needed for the majority of off roading typically done...Regardless you'll love the Kings with or without adjusters. **I think you can add them later (dont quote me), but I'd recommend getting custom valving when you rebuild.

I ran 6112/5160s for years before finally upgrading to Kings and they were great for the money. But dont let me sway you one way or the other, its your money and $2k is a pretty good deal. But if you want adjusters and dont mind paying for them and wait for them, then don't settle and go for it. I literally went all out when I ordered my Kings because it was nearly the last upgrade I would do for my build (lie) plus I felt like I wouldn't switch to anything else...

Filthy Motorsports told me you basically only use 2 settings with the adjusters, 15-20% for street use and 100% when wheeling. Other than that you will never mess with them.

    100%

    for me,

    6f / 6r for on road
15f / 15r for off road (18f / 18r if there are some gnarly off camber stuff)

I'm running 5100s ATM, was stoked for the deal but no adjusters and not extended travel is leading me away. Buy once cry once, but at the same time I'm thinking about it.

After you buy them, send them to AccuTune to have them remove the washer to make them extended travel and valve them to your specs so you don't need adjusters.

I want to be able to adjust them for street use when I'm driving on the street and adjust them for off-road, so adjusters it is.

My first tacoma build I had adjusters played with a couple time then pretty much set them and never touched them again.
