    I can not figure out what this bulb is used for? Low beam and brights share a bulb. No setting turns this on

    It looks like it’s been replaced with an LED aftermarket bulb. That may be why it will not turn on in DRL mode. The DRLs in your 2023 model only get 6 volts, not enough to operate most LEDs. Replace them with the OEM halogen bulbs and let us know how they work.

    Also a possibility: 4Runners come with a variety of different light switches. Depending on which switch you have, there may be a setting in the infotainment system (I think it’s in the “vehicle” settings) that disables the drl’s regardless of the light switch position. Perhaps yours have been disabled there.

    That 9005 bulb looks different on my 2022

    Maybe a trip back to the dealership
