Looking for shop in the North Houston area.

I bought a nice looking, well kept 2006 Sport Edition. Looking for a shop to install some body modifications like blacked out lights and hood scoop. I have put on tires and wheels and suspension upgrades. ie Bilstein shocks and struts.

I don't plan on off-roading Just want to look like I could

 

Hey Edward, how far North of Houston are you talking about?

Replacing lights is pretty easy. You should be able to find the service manual online. If you are in Montgomery county, a free membership to the library will also get you all of the Chilton manuals for free online. Youtube may have the videos you are looking for as well.

For the hood, if you are really set on a scoop. Find someone that is willing to swap hoods. It's a fake scoop anyway and if it's like the 5th gen, it causes glare when the sun is in the right spot. IMO - not worth it.

Not sure how blacked out lights and hood scoop make it look more "off road". My previous 4runner was a 06 SR5 V8 4WD. It did not have a hood scoop and only sported some larger tires and a minimal lift 1.5F/.75R. It looked and acted pretty off road.

 

True Texas: Thank You For the info. I will look up Chiltons at the Library. My vehicle is the Sport Edition and has a scoop I want to remove the insert and repaint it Red and Black for accent. I cracked it a little when trying to remove it myself. Also I purchased new headlight assemblies but I am not the most mechanical person and am looking for a shop to install them for me. Again. @Edward. For what you want on the hood scoop, you may want to get a bodyshop to remove it and paint it. Not sure if you can get a replacement since it's cracked. I'm sure other 4th gen owners can tell you.

Regarding the headlights, it looks pretty easy but a bodyshop can knock this out pretty quickly as well
