Who here is running the fox 2.0 suspension on their 4runner?

How do they hold up against rust?(I live in the rust/salt belt area).

CD adjustment on the rear shock, is it worth it?

    Any comments, concerns or opinions?

I don't run them, but they're on my list of possibilities.

I'm pretty sure they're aluminum, so they're probably pretty good in corrosion resistance.

This is a good topic. I wonder what shock bodies are made with aluminum. Last time when I check with the 4x4shop they told me King shock bodies are made with steel so told me that I should take extra care against rust vs ELKA are made with Aluminum. Also Toytec which are rebranded ELKA with minor differences like springs and no adjusters.

They also told me that in general 2.0 shocks run less psi gas so would give generally a good ride comfort vs 2.5 shocks without adjusters. Also in general 2.5 shocks with adjusters run less psi gas. Again no personal experience with Fox 2.0 or other 2.0 aftermarket.

No rust concerns here in GA but watching. Fox 2.0 at the top of my list. Thanks for starting this topic.

I was reading on another forum and guys where saying if you live in a rust area to get the 2.0 and stay away from 2.5. Reason I was asking.

I'm also curious about the cd adjustments. If its even worth it? Does it adjust the firmness of the ride quality?

Also what size piston is in the 2.0 shocks?

The 2.0 rears for a 2-3" lift have the perfect measurements for my setup. And 9.6" of travel is close enough to 10". I just wanna get some positive feedback before I spend the $$

If funny on tacomaworld there's mega threads on like every suspension setup. Here there's not much

I have the 2.0’s in the rear with icon 52700 springs, a little over 40k on and I’ve been happy. I’m on the west coast so rust isn’t a very big issue as it is in your area. I got them for the same reason that they have more travel than other shocks.

    2.5" Fox Suspension
(sorry thought I sent this earlier this morning)
Fox 2.0 performance series shocks are aluminum like mentioned above. But like all aluminum shocks, they still have steel components. Shafts will hold up well, but it wouldnt hurt to get shock boots for the rears to keep them from getting pelted with debris. Front coilovers (not recommended to go 2.0 IFP) are also aluminum bodied, but steel springs.

2.0 and 2.5 remote reservoir shocks will run the same nitrogen pressure. Amount of pressure is not necessarily a tuning thing, thats more in the valving.

Fox has their new line of Performance Elite Series 2.5 shocks that are aluminum bodied, only a matter of time before those are available for all models.

CD or LSC adjusters on the Fox 2.0 shocks are nice if you think you will use them. They are strictly for low speed compression, so it will help keep things under control when loaded up with camping gear. If you dont see yourself messing with them, dont get em.

Happy to help answer any other questions you have about Fox options

That's very interesting Fox have same psi for both 2.0 vs 2.5. Here's an example from Icon. This was the same case for Toytec 2.0 vs 2.5 as well when I check with them 2020. By any chance you have a tech document on this for Fox and Kings?

    2.5" Fox Suspension

Those are two different styles of shocks. It doesn't actually say if the top shock is an IFP or Emulsion, but the bottom is most definitely a standard remote reservoir shock. They operate in different manners and have very different operating pressures. Icon is also digressive compared to Fox. I could go on, but seems like we are getting distracted from the original topic

I run Fox 2.5 front/2.0 rear RR. I’m in the south, but if you’re gonna run the 2.0’s you could always have your vehicle treated underneath, or clear coat the bodies. I don’t have the adjusters, just depends if you want to be able to adjust them on the fly. Several places will tune them for you for free if you purchase from them, like @AccuTune Offroad. I’m happy with mine, way better than stock.
