Driver’s Seat in 2021 Limited

I have a 2021 Nightshade limited with leather interior. Does anyone else have carpet-like material on the right side of the drivers seat ?
i find it a bit bizarre that everything else on the seats are leather with the exception of this panel. Also, does anyone know the reason for it ?? It is right along side the seatbelt attachment and it honestly does not look like it belongs there.

The leather will scuff, chaff and tear over time against the center console. That is a much more slippery surface.

 

That looks like the carpet under the seat. Look under your seat with a good light to see if that section got folded up somehow.

 

I too have wondered that... I usually have it flipped up to help prevent my damn phone from slipping in between the console and seat, occasionally.
