I'm new to this forum so LMK if this question has been discussed elsewhere, but I couldn't find any threads when I searched...

I'm shopping for a new 2023 focused on TRD OR Prem with KDSS, but learning I will likely have to be flexible to actually nab a vehicle. Which brings me to my question: Is it possible and has anyone started with a Limited 4X4 and done lots of body modification to bring it into the Off-Road/Pro look? Can the front and rear bumpers be swapped to Off-Road/Pro bumpers (would front fenders also have to be swapped?). I'm asking because I like the Limited interior upgrade options (hello ventilated seats are great here in Hotlanta!), but I really HATE the exterior Limited trim package (no offense to those who don't feel as passionately as I do).

My former 4R was a 1997 black Limited. Sold it with just under 150K miles. Trying to come back to the fold. :-D

If I want a Ferrari, and buy a Fiero, and put a "body kit" wheels and tires on it, how much time, money and energy have I put into something that is only an intimidation, fitment wise, of what you want? You will need:

    Front bumper
    Pro grill
    Pro grill bracket
Pro, O/R, SR5 front and rear fenders
    Pro or O/R steps/rock rails
O/R, SR5, Pro, etc rear bumper

To me, patience to find what you want makes WAY MORE SENSE than trying to put create shit from shinola.

    Fiero Enzo?

Why can't we have our cake and eat it too?!! I put down a deposit yesterday for a TRD OR-P in my 1st choice color and XP Predator package which I'll get in 14 days, but I'd totally buy a modified Limited to look and perform like a OR/Pro. Elsewhere on this forum it appears I'm not alone in wanting an OR/Pro with better leather seats, ventilated seats, dual climate control, better stereo (et al).

Toyota doesn't seem interested in selling a lot more 4Runners by introducing Limited's luxury (for spoiled humans like me) interiors on the OR and Pro body builds which would compete directly with upgradable interiors of Grand Cherokee and Defender, nor is there a 4Runner OR/Pro size/capabilities/looks version at Lexus... IMO a huge missed opportunity by Toyota... and thus my question about exterior mods to a Limited. I've now beaten this subject to death - maybe. My new thoughts center on custom front seats. The decline of the front seats and overall interior is the reason I sold my '97 4R with 150K miles. No mechanical problems but the interior was embarrassing to put anyone in but my dog. For kicks you should test drive any Volvo because Volvo makes AMAZING seats. Now I've probably stepped in it...

@Daytonaviolet 's build posted above is the best. If if was a direct swap and could do it without drilling holes for the parking sensors I would have done it. With my ability I don't feel comfortable drilling holes and installing parking sensors.

For the radar sensor and front camera 2023 I think TRD/SR5 bumbers come with necessary mounting pieces but might need to double check when buying parts.

On another point, I absolutely love the full time 4wd on the Limited driving on road / dirt / gravel / forest roads over part time 4wd on SR5/TRD with front and rear strictly connected. But on difficult obstacles there is no alternative for the rear locker comes in TRD Offroad/ Pro. Unless you go aftermarket that is not too expensive but you won't get a reminder on dash to turn it off when not needed. I'm also a big fan of the comfort of XREAS suspension.

On 4runner world imo every trim has its pros and cons. Even if you compare SR5 vs TRD Pro. I absolutely love SR5 7 seat option and my wife prefer the SR5 4wd selector vs Pro 4wd selector which is hard like my (never mind)...
