VIN Plant Code “6”

Hi All: My vin has a “6” in the 11th spot (plant of manufacture). My understanding is that Tahara is 5. Does anyone know what a 6 means?

My vehicle is a 2022 SR5 Premium.

Mine has a 6 as well. The sticker says "Final Assembly Point: Toyota, Aichi, Japan"

That is because all the 4Runners plus more (Lexus LS, Lexus IS, Lexus GX, Lexus RC, Lexus NX, Land Cruiser, Prado, 4Runner) final assembly takes place at that location in Tahara, Aichi and that is in Toyota City the location of I think 12 or 13 Toyota plants.

 

In the Toyota 4Runner, a VIN plant code of "6" indicates that the vehicle was built at the Tahara plant in Aichi, Japan. The Tahara plant is the most robotized and computerized automotive plant in the world, and it produces Lexus and Toyota vehicles, including the 4Runner, Land Cruiser, and RAV4. The plant also manufactures V8 engines, which only two Toyota plants globally can do.

Furthermore i have 6 in my 11th position of my vin and my new 2024 4runner, Window sticker says and i quote TAHARA AICHI JAPAN.....So there you go...hope it helped
