will this go back down? I is a trip hazard as is. Driver door floor liner.
If this goes back down fine. I am used to the heavier oem mat that is not as good coverage but no problem like this.

I had the TRD ones but still didn't do that.

Probably the same just said OffRoad on it.

Maybe try laying it on concrete in hot sun with a brick for a while?

Separately my Dad recently got weather Tec HP floor liners for his accord. I have not seen a 4R but gosh his are super nice. They seem like a good balance between sturdy yet plyable. They are definitely not a rigid as original wt mats and not flimsy either. I am debating getting a set.

Even though they seem more like rubber, with enough heat gun action, you can get them to form back flat. The only problem is that the line between softening and melting is pretty thin. If you do this, put the heat on the underside, to hide any melty surface damage a bit better. If you catch it quick, the melting wont show on the other side.

Beach guy could post some pics of how those huskys look in your 4R. It would be neat to see the real thing in the vehicle if you have time.

It’s been my experience when this happens with an all weather floor mat that it will not go back down. I suggest you request your dealership to replace it.

I used these for 5 years in my F-150 and they held up very well.

Edit to say the top one is the drivers front and I have seat jackets there. That’s why the back of it looks a little different than you might anticipate. If you don’t have seat jackets, definitely consider those too. Night and day comfort, especially on long drives.

Thanks Beachguy for the pics. This seat Jack how does that impact the floor mat. Does it just tuck in more under seat?

I am assuming seat Jack raises seat back? I will have to search.

Those floor mats look much nicer and easier to clean vs the oem liners

I think I am sold on them.

I’ll try to explain. In the first pic, on the lower right, you can see just a little white. That’s where the carpet doesn’t really tuck under the plastic trim after installing the seat jackers. They go under those front mounting points to make the front of the seat sit up and support your legs better. (They don’t raise the back.) So there’s a little gap between the mat and the trim that covers the front mount. It’s really no big deal and they are 100 times nicer than the rubber oem ones.

    here’s the seat jackers. https://desertdoesit.com/products/front-seat-jackers-2002-2009-4runners

Yeah it bothered me at first but after I drove with the seat jackers in place I no longer cared, they made the ride that much better.

It’s funny because I always thought the 4R was comfortable driving and smooth. But I had a 20 yr old Explorer previously so obviously much different so new was very new. Maybe I would notice more on a long trip.

Brand new it was way better than my 2001 Tacoma TRD that my son still drives. But coming out of a 2015 F-150, not so much. Early on I read here about two things that made that transition so much more palatable; seat jackers and the Pedal Commander. Most everything else has just been cosmetic or practical. Those 2 made me really next-level love this vehicle.

I’m in Florida now with 1600 miles on the 4R and the mats are the same bend in the one place on only the one mat. But no sand getting on the carpet and the back seat where just the dog jumps in and out no carpet sand as well.
The dealership in Texas has my new HD Mats (not liners) in now and i was planning on switching out when i get back in a couple of weeks. But these really give great protection from my years with mats coming here. You can’t drive on the beach but you are parked in full sand all the time.
As of today thinking i can live with this for the extra protection from sand on the carpet around mats.
