What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Another successful ECGS Bushing install today on a '22 SR5. It was clean and made me think of how nice our '18 Off Road looked when we got it before we treated it like an old boot!

I've done both mods and love it, the morimoto's head lights are so much brighter then the OEM and so pretty to look at.

I like the power fold mirrors in narrow bush roads, car wash and I can look back at it after walking away and know I locked it. It folds when you lock it. If you're doing power folds, you might as well do the sequential turn signal and arrow light mirrors so you don't take it apart 3 times like I did.

 

Gave Casper a bath today. Much needed. Been so dry and lot of dust floating around. I know it won't last long, but looks for now. Did recently replace the front and rear turn signals with LEDs (no pics, sorry)

 

You’re missing the front right wheel center cap ^^^

 

I let a buddy use it a few weeks ago. Somehow, he hit a nail and that particular tire went flat. It got plugged, but he had the center cap in his car. I finally got it back about 2 weeks ago. Just haven't thought about putting it back on.

 

My wife said literally the same thing.........................

Finally got the second sub in. I needed a different harness since my system is a little older.

 

That is very clean. Have you shared the details in this forum before? Love to learn details about the parts and cost.

 

It's a full OEM Audio + system now with the dual sub option. It's pricey but it's all there.

 

Replaced my transfer aluminum shift knob with a leather one that has red stitching.

Put new heavy springs up front to prep for the bumper install in a few weeks. Man! Feels like when you get new shoes!!!

 

Installed Lasfit LED backup bulbs. Trying to get the motivation to go backup for the hell of it and see how they are

 

They're okay. They work fine. They're not the game changers that the headlights are, and they're not as impressively useful as the trunk lights are.

 

I'd like to add the diode dynamics backup lights in the future

I added a noise maker... injen intake. Found a site that had them at $260 shipped. I had to wait almost a month.

I recently had my 4runner tuned kdmax. I love it. It improved so much. So I though, why not throw an intake on it. I don't expect much but atleast it sounds badass haha. I'll probably also get the urd mid pipe and some sort of catback. Down the road.

If you guys haven't yet check out the kdmax thread. Its well worth it.

 

I just placed (cant say installed) all these cupholderhero liners all over my 4R

They look modest imo.

 

Where did you find those? I installed ones from 4runner lifestyle a while back, but they are thick foam which isn't what I really wanted.

 

Canvasback with red stitching and bumper flap. I didn't want to be the person that wished they did this sooner. Pricey but like the quality and handmade in America!

I have the same ones even the wife liked the look. She's not a mod fan.

 

Changed the oil today. Discovered that all the bolts on the skid plate look like this, reaffirming my decision to NEVER go to the dealership for service again!



The process wasn't all that bad. Would've been much quicker if I didn't have to deal with these damn bolts.

 

I let the dealership do my first 3 "free" oil changes. One bolt was stripped, and had another snap. I ended up replacing all of the skid plate bolts and made sure to use anti-seize on them.

 

Good, don't!!
Took my tundra in for service for the first five years, (it came with free 5 year service plan) when i finally ran out of free service and did it myself, only 2 bolts holding the skid plate and the 2 bolts were worse than that. I can't speak for all dealerships, but most hire kids that want to be mechanics and don't know any better and use a impact. Never again. My 4runner has never seen the inside of a service shop.

 

Finally got around to doing this simple mod. Parts have been in my garage and moved halfway across the country.
