Anyone using a YOHO sleeping platform?

Looks pretty promising. However, not sure if the sides are actually rubbing on the wheel wells ? I’d be concerned of thrashing up the plastics in that area. Other than that, seems like a viable option for car camping. would like to know some feedback if any of you are running this setup, thanks!

I would put a towel on top of the wheel wells. Also the loss of headroom is a deal breaker for me. I could technically still use my fridge, but I like my setup better. Simple and easy. I can drive with seats up for my dog. Then quickly fold the seats and inflate mattress. Its a cool concept if you don't mind having it setup while driving or if you don't mind having all those boards taking up valuable space until you set it up.

 

Nice setup! Only reason I was considering is because my rear isn’t completely flat, and I didn’t want to mess with trying to add a sliding cargo tray just to flatten things out. Now I'm wondering if I would even feel that dip with an inflatable mattress.

 

Just build a small platform to level it out. Plenty on YouTube.

 

Just get 2 inch thick Insulfoam insulation from Home Depot, cut to size. Duct tape the edges to prevent little pieces breaking off. It is weightless, stores easily and is not compressible. And is cheap. Flattens out the sleeping area when I remove the back seat bottoms and lower the seat backs.

 

So much easier to throw a comfy inflatable back there or foam. And more headroom too. I do like the space beneath, but I don't like how it sits on the wheel well plastic with less headroom. Would probably grind up the plastic pretty good without some towels or something.

 

People are smarter than I am.

 

Genius! Can you roll it up to store when traveling or do you just put cargo on top, or put it on top of cargo?

Like @DallasTRDPro mentioned, the loss of headroom is definitely worth noting. Mine is a few inches shorter than the YOHO and it's still pretty tight in there.

The nice thing is being able to store all of my recovery gear, tools, fishing gear, and more underneath so it's out of the way.

I actually plan on rebuilding it this year, and lowering it a few inches.

Can't roll it up. When traveling I just put my stuff on top of it. Doesn't harm it.

They were just cut from Reflectix and I struggled with them staying put. Since then I splurged for (ridiculously expensive but really great) magnetic Strawfoot Handmade covers for the rear quarters and liftgate:

 

They look great! Just looked them up, wow not cheap. But I do like that they are pretty local to me in Santa Cruz. Might be worth supporting

Only if you get me correct measurements for how to cut it. Trying to figure out what size to order from Lowe’s

 

Mine is cut to 42 3/4 X 33 3/8 but measure for yourself to make sure you are satisfied.
The longest measurement is side to side between the wheel wells.

In my truck it sits on an off road rubber mat that came with the truck. That makes it sit slightly higher than if you just have the carpet bed.

If you wanted to add a little more height to it you could get a second piece of the insulation in 1/4 or 1/2 inch thickness and duct tape them together along the edges.

I built a simple leveling platform with some storage under the left side for my folding stool and tire iron.

The right side has a slide-out table.

 

Cool. I wound up reverse engineering the Yoho since they seem to be out of biz and not responding. I tried calling, emailing, and texting to buy the product or the plans but no answer just like everyone else.

 

I completely stole this idea. Thanks, its a great one! We have the Luno air mattress. Had to go with half sheets of 1" foam board. Cut to fit and stacked, then duct taped around the perimeter like yours. The foam board is still fairly soft for stacking stuff on top of, so I had the OEM cargo mat gathering dust in my basement, trimmed off the edge closest to the rear seats to flatten the transition gap, attached it with small screws and then Gorilla taped it the rest of the way. It sits on top of the Husky mat. Fits snug and I'm pleased.
