99 transmission slipping in low gear

    Charlotte NC here...cool forum... just got a 1999 4runner after wrecking my 98. The transmission slipping a little in low gear...automatic R150F... solenoid?

    1997 SR5 4x4, 302k and counting
    Tacoma whip, 99 console box, tru trac., steering wheel, PWMS and HVAC control out of a 99.
    Does it only slipping first when in the "D" range? or when the shifter is all the way into the "L" gear? Difference is in holding devices, may be a holding device active in "D" that isn't active in "L", and vice versa. Many people have a service manual, do you also have one? Proper Road Test, Mechanical, and Stall tests would be described in it. Following the test procedure, and results of tests could tell you if you had a mechanical or electrical fault. Usually if you have a faulty solenoid a trouble code is stored, but not always. I'll see if I can print some test procedures for the R150 while I'm at work.
