    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there are any ways I can play cassette tapes in my 2022 4Runner without converting analog signal to digital by connecting, for instance, Walkman stereo cassette player with the 4Runner audio system via an existing USB port using 3.5 mm AUX Audio Jack to 2.0 USB adapter/cable. It would be great to hear your opinion on this.

    Thanks,
    Oleg

    Welcome,

The only other thing I could think of is cassette 3.5mm to Bluetooth adapter to headunit. But that's probably less than ideal for your purposes.

    Thank you Paul,

Yes, ideally to keep analog signal. In my understanding, Bluetooth output will be digital.

    Thanks for the detailed reply!

Still, in the 4Runner audio system, it should be some point in the wiring where the analog signal, from the DAC for example, eventually goes to an amplifier. Is there an option to tap into that point by adding a standard 3.5 mm AUX cable/port for receiving analog signal from the Walkman directly?

You also need to check how many heads it has to “split” the sound up. There are 2,3 heads available I think mine factory radio is a “four” head unit.

If you have a cassette tape that’s all hiss and not clear. You run the cassette tape, I think the head then picks up the magnetism. Then you run the demagnetizer. Then play the cassette again and it sounds brand new. Very clear no distortion.
