    2000 4runner
    Would like to get some opinions from some others on the forum,have a 2000 4runner sr5 with a pink milkshake in transmission have replaced radiator and transmission cooler had the transmission flushed two times it has lasted about 7 months now transmission is gone out it has 190,000 Miles on vehicle,everything works as it should, bodies very good shape, interior is very good shape is this truck worth a replacement rebuilt transmission.Would just like to hear other people's opinions thanks.

    I've heard of several people getting a used transmission and did ok.

    I personally would drop the coin for a completely new or remanufactured (not rebuilt) one.

    Just looking online I see that a re-manufactured tranny goes for roughly 3K. Throw in 1K for labor, we're talking 4K. If the rest of the car is in good shape, it would be worth it. Even if you do not intend to keep the car and with the way car prices are nowadays, I surmise you can get more out of the vehicle if you were to repair and sell it afterwards.
