Thanks for the compliment. Yes, similar...even the stories are similar. I too initially traveled alone, but since finding India, our dog, now it's the two of us. I do not own or want a tent, it's just more stuff, and why I sleep in the back. A common theme in those channels as well is, "How fast the setup is..." My rehearsed answer is, "You just spent two hours negotiating 2-5 miles of technical trail but you are obsessed with a fast setup." (The same with how fast they can air up tires. Slow down; the purpose of being out here is to get away from the rat RACE! But I digress). Anyhow, for me the setup is permanent. The only thing missing for me is the vehicle driving itself while I nap, use the bathroom, or bake cookies in the back (a bit of an exaggeration but doable). On another topic, my obsession is being able to bug out in the middle of the night if need to. Thus, at camp, I have a handful of items I bring out, like a chair and India's bed, and put them all away before sleep. Just in case, in the middle of the night, I need to jump into the driver seat, drive over any rocks chocking the tires and drive away. Thanks for the video. Yea, it's a good tutorial. Not knowing if you're considering a similar build but I found the 80/20 to be more forgiving than wood. Meaning, there are only so many screws/nails you can put into wood. With the extrusion you can disassemble and reassemble (rinse and repeat)--literally, your imagination is the limit.

I am actually. Extrusion is the only way to go for me. A lot rmeo forgiving if you need to adjust or want to change the configuration. I want mine to be reasonably easy to remove so that when its my wife and I going to our cabin in NM, it back to a normal configuration.

I'm a big guy with arthritis and a 65lb dog. RTT's are no bueno for me. I ground tent when with my wife and 3 dogs but have a terrific cot or air mattress.

Installed this phone mount I got from Best Buy and then took a really crappy photo of it
    1D420488-205D-4BCA-AFEC-1BB34CF3D8BB.jpg
It has a sticky tape ball mount and where I have it mounted allows modulation of the temp control knob and the transfer case shifter without interference with my smaller iphone SE.

I also went through and assessed all my EDC tools. Bought a new Rigid tool box that holds everything including my jumper cables and compressor.

i love how the box is the same height as the wheel well/shelf. I would get one just for that reason! I have a few for tools I should see if it works as well with the sliding tray, I bet it will be high.

Thought of testing the HVAC temperature. So far it seems not too off. Just about 1F difference..

Your stance looks great. I just picked ours up Saturday after ordering in April. I'm still on stock tires and my stance looks emaciated compared to yours. I am used to my 2013 Tacoma on aftermarket wheels though.

I am also happy with SPC's. Been great. I went with SPC because they are a pretty easy repair/replace if you ever needed to on the trail. I have installed SPC's, JBA's, Icons etc and never had issues with SPC, JBA or even the Arb during install. (I had an issue with one set of Icon's but that seemed to be a fluke.)

When it comes to JBA do most of y’all buy the HD set? I had lots of problems with my SPCs. Long story short they sent me new bushings cause mine were making noises. Thanks

The SPCs had bushing issues in 2019/2020. They have corrected some problems. They’re notorious for being very difficult to deal with. It was pulling teeth to get my refund when my bushings shit the bed in my Tacoma. They’ll blacklist a dealer if they sell the UCAs less than they say

We just got the front windows tinted at 35% and added the chrome side rails (nerf bars). Next will be a 2 inch lift in front. Thinking about larger tires...20220920_170842 (1).jpg

Good to know SPC has been having issues! Ive never had to deal with warranty but they used to be easy to deal with. Hope they get it together!

I used to be a mechanic then flipped careers and now I just do side work out of my shop in the backyard. That being said, I have installed at least 30-40 of them haha. It is pretty straight forward. The remover tool is a must (it can be done without it but it is not worth the frustration). The installer tool they sell now takes the guess work out of it so highly recommend it. There are a ton of videos out there on the job. It can be done by just pulling the two lower bolts on the lower ball joint and popping the tie rod ends, removing the bump stop and just swinging everything out of the way. It is fast but not necessarily easy. A little more work but easier is to to the same thing but remove the caliper and wire it up, you can also pull the axle from the hub but that is a lot more work that is not worth it in my opinion. Also, always replace the seal.
