Is there a way we can swap the lower grill from the 2022 with MTM to the 2021 TRD Pro? If you see in the pics, you can see the sensor sweet is in the lower part of the grill for the MTM equipped 4Runners.

I want to swap this into my 2021 so I can add a 30" Baja Designs ONX6+ light bar to the upper part of that grille.

    For reference: I want this grill/sensor location:2022 Sensor.jpg

To go into the lower grill here:
    2021 Sensor.jpg

Or, in more simplistic efforts, can the 2021 grill just be turned upside down??? I would just like to be able to out my 30" light bar higher up in the bumper... And the blank plate can be dremeled out for more light output.

What are your thoughts and/or suggestions?

Wasn't that the upper-grill though? The part above the Toyota badge?

    Anyone?

It almost looks like it would be a simple swap of just the plastic "mesh" part and the actual sensors just attach to it on the back side...

The TSS sensor is mounted lower because the camera is mounted above. Won't that be in the way for the light bar?

As far as your question, I think the only way to be sure it will work is to look at the back side of the grill of each. There may be differences in the molded mounting points in the plastic grill around the camera and TSS. Otherwise, I would think the external size, mounting and wiring for the TSS would be the same.

Here is a better picture of the camera. My guess is yes, the can interchange the two parts. But you will still need to dremel out the filler panel and camera housing. Doing so will greatly reduce structural support for the TSS sensor and over time the area above the sensor may crack. Post up pics if you move forward with the project!

Thanks for that pic. It really gives me a much better visual to see what it possible... But at this point, it almost seems like placing a 10" lightbar on each side of the sensor may be the best course of action...

That’s where my amber light bar is going… that will satisfy a different need. ;)

That plate looks like a s*** stain in the middle of my grill. It's one thing that I'll be happy to see deleted on the 6th gen

Has anyone ordered the pro lower grill to install on a lifted sr5 to get rid of TSS errors? I’d like confirmation it works.
