What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Great looking rig. Curious how you are going to like those MT as a daily, especially in the rain on road. Best looking tire both functionally and appearance wise available now IMO.

 

Lots of little things today:
Seat Jacker adjustment
Relocate CB to Seat Jacker
Factor 55 flatlink swapped in for hook of death
Rotopax mount (2) relocation to trail swing
2nd Arkon mount for tablet

How do you like the Seat Jacker? I was going to order those soon.

 

So far I like em! Drive about 800 miles last weekend and it was not too shabby. I just moved my CB down the their mollee panel and it’s no issues on sitting.

 

Plus you get plenty storage space under the seat. I put four 4x4's under the seat for that extra lift using the bottle jack. And there is room for the "anti-carjack/SHTF device" as well.

Don't you like the ones that have all the controls on the hand set so you can have the big box under the seat?

On another note, do you know of any low profile tunable cb antennas that does not need a ground plate like those GMRS ones so I don't have to remove parking in garage? If I can have them on the crossbars it would be soo awesome.

 

I was gonna have other things under there so wifey bought me this one as a gift. And now this is the one I have

 

Lasfit ditch lights installed. Need to aim them and rewire my switches this weekend. These replaced my Amazon special ones.

 

Have only had them for about a week now, and on dry pavement I'm super impressed so far. I'm coming off the Cooper ST Maxx which performed great off-road and in most cases/conditions did great on-road but were loud, especially near the end of their life. They did okay in rain, but I've heard good things about the MT BB ATs and they have the 3peak rating. They're much quieter on-road than the Coopers.

I'm optimistic that they'll be good but only time will tell.

Finally got the new shoes installed yesterday. Bought the tires 6 months ago when they were on sale and finally had time off to get them on yesterday. Falken Wildpeaks At3w 275/70/17's. Fit perfectly on my 2021 Trail Edition - no rubbing so far in normal driving and no shuddering/wobbling at speed. Truck needs a bath but I am really pleased.

 

Crossed 10,000 miles yesterday. So I changed the oil today. Figured since the skid plate was coming off, why not remove the engine plate cover and spare tire and WoolWax the frame.

 

Had stock size BFG KO2's installed today at 220 miles. I ordered C range and they installed E range . Now gotta decide if I should just stick to the E's. Really didn't want the weight and stiffness.

and since I haven't posted about it, also worth noting that I had the ceramic coating done last weekend, and got the windows tinted as well.

Stock. Will add a winch just in case. Maybe level the front and stiffer stock height springs in the rear for towing endeavors. Of course that means an auxiliary trans cooler too. I see this getting out of control quick...

I had a stock second gen that went anywhere, and a lifted, balls out FJ which I just sold. Now I just want to drive her as the engineers intended for a while. I know what she can do as is with a good set of rubbers!
