What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Found out I'm JUST on the right side of my 36 month warranty, and the dealership is super close so I took it to them this morning. They're saying it's just the gas cap. I'm always careful to tighten until it clicks, and I hadn't gotten gas since last week so I'm skeptical - but at least the issue is documented so if it resurfaces they'll hopefully work with me on it to get it resolved.

Still strange to me about the A-Trac and Multi-Terrain indicators though. Maybe it was just paranoia/all in my head, but it felt a little different while driving - while coasting more specifically. We'll see.

 

Where'd you find them for ~$200 each? Dealership here quoted me $310 each

 

Thanks and will do! I was also just poking around in another thread about this and I think there is a consensus on this being the way to go.

 

It took a few days and I'm almost halfway through my break-in. The difference is appreciable. No longer feels sluggish. And the lost of top end speed is a non issue. My runner is a heavy vehicle so driving it fast is unsafe (unlike my miata).

 

Haven't done any mods lately other than wash the damn thing haha

So finally installed the Baja designs rock lights I got years ago when eBay had sales on top of sales…

soooooo they turn on randomly while unlocking the truck….

they’re tapped into a powered wire that goes to stock trunk light, n I drilled a ground inside of hatch….

I don’t have any settings on that turn on lights when doors open

any ideas?

I know puddle lights n bottom door lights turn on while unlocking but?

 

I went with the ironman and it's super nice. However, depending on your roof rack you might have to buy different mounts that are compatible.

I activated the keyed window up/down and remote window down function. Like the tailgate key up/down, it works on the four door-mounted windows using the driver's door keyhole.

I am starting an underseat lighting project too.

The driver's door window up/down function does not work on the tailgate window.

Did you use a bidirectional OBD2 scan tool?

 

The tailgate window isn't linked to the other windows/sunroof. I haven't seen any options to control the rear window with the key fob.

 

How? Do tell and link please?

 

Which sucks because my 3rd gen 4runner had a button for the tailgate window down, Don't know why toyota didn't put that on the 5th gen.

Well, not exactly done today but over the last several days...installed King suspension, new RRW RR7 (-12 offset) wheels, and Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT (285/70/r17) tires.

 

Looks good. I hope you like the wheels as much as I like mine.
