This thread is the most expensive one on here. For function, it has taught me I’ll be spending another $10K. For extras beyond function for things I’d like to have, that’s another $5-7K . I’ve already spent over $2K and have only had it 7 weeks

Gonna leave the skirts because those will eventually be removed so no reason to waste any Hyperdip. The new Hyperdip is really a big upgrade over the standard plastidip.

Lexus has been doing it far longer than the ole 4runner. It’s pretty silly you’d say it’s a “wannabe 4runner.” It’s a better vehicle.

Not true, Toyotas been around for 85 years, 4runners for 38, while Lexus GX line has only been around for 20.

Even worse the GXs are built on the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado platform.

Naah, leave it, not worth debating. For some when they see V8 everything else gets blurred. I know when Tundra had 4.7V8 with 26gal tank how many time I pump gas. 460 has 23gal tank and pretty much same ground clearance as a Highlander. But def a really nice city vehicle. Had to get some extra package to get the fual tank skid when I checked in 2019 for my wife. Did not check the boxes for her needs here in CO.

 

Let us know how your radio holds up. Radios (and especially their displays) don't like to bake in the sun.
Unless you are running only UHF, that "phantom" antenna is a very poor performer. A dedicated dual band antenna (like a Larsen NMO 2/70) will give far better performance. If you're concerned about roof clearance, a 19" VHF 1/4 antenna will work quite well on both VHF and UHF ham frequencies.
