    Hi all.

    Begrudgingly I traded my 2022 Landrover Defender 90 for a 4Runner! haha

Absolutely loved the Defender but owning one is like having a super hot girlfriend, love her but don't trust her....

I was lucky my Defender was flawless unlike so many others but there is no way I would keep it past it's warranty period so thought I'd better take advantage of the bizarre car market and flip it while it's hot.

Toyota is solid, reliable and nowhere near as "fancy" but she's a girl you can take home to mom...

Anyway very tough decision but I know it's for the best.

    Welcome from N.C.

I believe you made the right choice. If you wanted fancy you could have gone with the Lexus GX460. TFL (YouTube channel) said they were on their 3rd defender because of problems. That blew my mind and I wondered why people buy them with them being so unreliable or having a high failure rate. That part doesn’t make sense to me. That seems like gambling to me. I would rather go with the sure bet that I won’t lose and just keep my money in my wallet (not harping on anyone who gambles. Best of luck to you).

I love the 90s defenders. The new ones are definitely not the old ones. Good choice

Congrats to one newbie from another. Still waiting on my car to come in from the port, but excited that you've got yours.

What made you buy the defender in the first place?

Well actually I had a Tesla on order.

    I've had a couple Land Rovers over the years, '68 Series 11a and a '95 Defender 110.

Anyway, drove by and saw this one on the lot, asked my wife to come check it out, hoping she would talk me out of it but she ended up saying it was more me than a Tesla, which is true.

Problem is it's still a little too "fancy" for me. Mainly because Land Rover has moved away from being an everyday "mans" vehicle to luxury. Just can't stomach that.

My wife had a Range Rover for a while and they are fun when they are new. But the cost to maintain that POS was not worth it. Congrats on the new 4Runner! Welcome from Texas!
