Hello everyone! I just took delivery of my '22 4Runner SR5 premium with a whopping four miles on the clock. Loving it so far and I am looking forward to learning as much as I can about it. I have pretty good mechanical ability having been an aircraft structural mechanic for the past 33 years. Yeah, I'm kinda old...

Nautical Blue with a tan interior. Initial plans are retractable running boards and 20" rims with slightly more agressive tires.

Welcome from central Maryland! Color looks great!

Just an FYI because you mentioned both 20" wheels and more aggressive tires - if going for looks, not an issue, but if you plan on offroading you may want to stick with 17" or 18" for more sidewall. 20" wheels with little sidewall can get beat up with rocks on trails.

Edit - *lack of sidewall also causes issues with airing down for offroading. May not be an issue for you, just thought I'd throw it out there!

    Welcome..:hattip:

    That's a bad choice IMO.
Atleast the 20 in wheels came on my Limited look ugly and less practical even on city use. Automatic running boards can be a point of failure. See this video where it got stuck due to ice. If you get regular full running boards may be you will get some amount of protection on the sides at parking lots.

Nice, and welcome! My favorite color! If you haven't already, look around for info on those running boards. I think I recall problems with them, maybe regarding ice/snow. Not certain though.

    Enjoy, and congratulations!

Looks like I posted right when Kmeeg did. So maybe I remembered correctly after all.

Thanks man! By chance can you secure a bottle of Old Pappy Van Winkle for me? Since you're there...

Thanks for the inputs and advice guys, I've never had a vehicle quite like this one but I know that I love it!

So, retractable running boards have been ruled out. Thank you Kmeeg for that little nugget of knowledge.
Meanwhile, I do think I want to ditch the factory rims and tires for taller and aggressive ones. I have me a learning curve to master...

If we could start a group buy I may jump on this! I've only heard stories about it and never had any
