if you get a chance, can you take a picture of your tire and fender from a little bit further out like the one I just did, when you get a chance.

More surprising since the wheels have positive offset, but I’ve heard others say the Wildpeak’s in stock size could cause rubbing due to the shape of the tire’s shoulder. Pro’s have a little lift and A/T tires, and Toyota trims the bumper to avoid rubbing. I had to trim my bumper and push the liner forward for my stock sized Wildpeak’s on TRD Pro wheels and 5100’s at the 1.75” setting.

do you have any other pics of your truck with the bilstein set at 1.75? I’m looking at the 5100s but it’s my wife’s 4R and I’m trying to get different pics with tire sizes to show her, thanks

You have a +15 offset with your offroad wheels.

@Madmace has a +4 offset with his Pro wheels. There can be rubbing with this wheel offset. This is why Toyota does the fender liner mod for the Pro's, as @Ripmo mentioned above.

It started rubbing after the lift. I took a quick measurement from the center of the rim to the edge of the fender. It was 17 1/2 to the front and 18 1/2 to the back.

Nimby, shouldnt a lift give him more clearance, not take it away?

looks pushed fwd a bit. Did you check the shops “before and after” alightment sheet to make sure theyre within spec?

I just measure mine. center of the rim to the edge of the fender was 18 1/2 to the front and 18 3/4 to the back by mudflap.

With up travel, yes he gets more clearance. However, he is not rubbing on the top of his wheel well. He's rubbing when he turns the wheel side to side (scrub).

The outermost knobs on his tires are coming in contact with the plastic fender liner directly in front of his front tire as he turns the wheel. As you move the wheel further out relative to the hub (as you do when you lower the offset) that increases the chances you will rub on this area and the one behind it where the mudflap and the body mount are located.

The simple fix for his situation is to remove 1 bolt from his fender liner, push the fender liner forward an inch or so and screw the bolt back in. Then take a sharp box knife and cut a small corner of your fender flare. It will literally take 10 minutes per side at the most and you can't even tell its been done.

So, I guess my newbie question is that would changing the UCA, put the tire back towards the stock position?

with the small lift that you have you shouldnt need to replace UCA. IMO I would take to another place that does alignments on lifted vehicles and do the fender trim mod for clearance.

For shits and giggles, im going to take a tire off my 2011 that has 285/70/17s on stock rims and see how close it is to the fender on my 2022 when i turn left/right and post asap

No. As you lift our vehicles higher, the wheel gets pulled further and further back in the wheel well. Somewhere around the 2-2.5" lift mark the wheel can only make the minimum caster alignment spec. This is the point where people get UCA's.......to allow them to push their tire back to a forward position in the wheel well and get higher caster numbers that are back towards the maximum end of spec.

Your caster is on the lower end of spec as it is right now.......and you're still rubbing on the front of your fender liner. If you got a UCA that allowed you to move your caster up even more, you'd rub even more on your fender liner/fender flare.

I have a 1.6" lift up front as well. Stock UCA's. My caster is set to +3.6. I have 285/70/17. Oh, and I have wheel spacers that put my offset at a -15 or so. No rubbing in the back because my caster is pushed forward. No rubbing in the front because of the fender liner mod.

Now granted these are not TRD rims that I took off my 2011 SR5, however they are wildpeaks in 285/70/17 mouted on my 2022 Trail Special with 2” lift in front. They clear the rear Mudflap And body moint just fine and the front inner wheel well liner just fine locked to left and right. I also did not have to push the wheel well liner forward at all.

You can clear those tires primarily because of your high offset......those wheels are probably around a +15 offset.

If you moved those wheels/tires out further with a lower offset (like the Pro wheels with a +4), then you'd be rubbing in those areas.
