What do the ladders bolt onto? I see them on the side and also the back. Do you have to drill holes in the body? Does the ladder on the back restrict opening the liftgate?

The Bajarack ladder clips to the top of the tailgate, and is held on by a clamp on the bottom. No drilling or cutting is required.

They recommend upgrading the hatch struts when installing a ladder. I believe Bajarack even recommended a particular product.

My gobi roof rack came with a ladder. Also a no drill option and they gave me upgraded struts for the increased weight on the tailgate.

Greenlane offroad ladder uses 2 mounts. 1 mount for top of liftgate and 1 mount for bottom of liftgate. You then placed the ladder over the top mount bolts and cinched it down to the bottom mount with nuts/bolts.

Here is a cheaper way to access your roof rack.

    Mokidoorstep.com

You can move it door to door which gives you much better access to different parts of the rack as needed, it's much lighter than a ladder, and you won't have to upgrade your rear hatch struts. Check it out.
