Friday towed boat to Beltzville State Park. Definitely frt floats W/Eibachs set @ 0.85 on frt. on highway W/275x70x17's Cooper Discoverer ST/MAXX when trucks pass by. Today used it to get to buddies property for some .22 & .45ACP target shooting! Oil change & Tire rotation next weekend, 50k mi. The way I'm commuting currently I got another 2 yrs before my 75-85k mi range for trade in. Not sure what will be to my liking by then??

How heavy is the tongue? I just towed 1100 highway miles and didn't have any issue with front float when passing or being passed by trucks. Wondering if you have a heavy tongue that's unloading the front end (I use air bags to compensate).

Not sure as of tongue wt. I had NO issues W/Stock suspension, just after I wanted to level it out & putting the Eibach's set @ 0.85 frt. I can live W/it because I only tow boat MAX 2 times away from our normal weekend day trip on the turnpike.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
Drove it from NY to NC. 640 miles with over 1,000 lbs of stuff loaded in it. 19.2 average MPG not babying it. Made it in 9 1/2 hours. This thing was made for driving the distance it's the 6th time I've made this trip and it really is comfortable for the long distance.

Ditto and also prevents the breather from getting corroded or caked up with dirt and mud while offroading preventing the axle from venting correctly.

Maybe consider getting a set of airbag helpers for the rear. Infinitely adjustable and cheap safety feature for towing limits.

Added a remote start and TRD exhaust yesterday. The remote start is awesome but I'm iffy about the exhaust. It still needs to break in.

Does the TRD exhaust prevent the exhaust smell when the back window is down?

Yes it helps. But don't go off buying a trd exhaust just because the side exit. Just find a good muffler shop to bend the tailpipe.

I honestly didn't notice it before but that's one of the main reasons I went with it. Probably a ton cheaper to have a bent pipe made like mentioned.

Even as a vehicle used off road, it would probably be not be many that would taken it through water deep enough to to submerge the breather. It’s located a few inches above the hub, which is the same level as the bottom of the opening of the doors.

    That said, it’s reasonable insurance…

It is in my list of considerations.

Our first trip was this weekend and it did ok. Drove on highway at 60-65mph. Trucks and stuff definitely push this box around. It is comfortable enough for sure but if it was really windy or stormy I’d probably wait it out.

Nothing yet except a trailer brake controller. Going to install an in-line trans oil cooler. Not sure on suspension yet, still debating.

Installed the Tacoma Start Ring from AJT. They say it won't fit 4Runners due to the back tabs being arranged slightly different between the two vehicles, but it snapped right into my dash no problem. And it looks fantastic with the TRD start button by Meso I was able to hunt down! And they both blend very well with my radio and climate control knobs (AJT again).

Also installed the upper control panel carbon fiber surround (no idea what its official name is LOL!) and scored my first patch from 4Runner Lifestyle in my order for their LED license plate lights.

I'm thinking I want to add a few more carbon fiber pieces but my "cockpit" is already beginning to look the way I envision it!

Changed out my red ajt climate knobs for the army green climate knobs since they just released them. Also added a little cubby off of etsy making that useless storage area below the infotainement useful. If anyone is interested in red climate knobs and black radio knobs pm me and we can work out a reasonable discounted price. 20220817_195426.jpg 20220817_201534.jpg

I used the get the exhaust smell on my Tacoma when it was newer, same with the 4Runner. Seems to go away when it's broken in.

I stopped driving with the rear window down, at least on the highway. My headliner in the cargo area is dirty from stuff being sucked in through the window. I also noticed that the air flowing through the cab will become warmer with the rear window down. Not sure if it's the exhaust being sucked in, or because the airflow changes when the rear window is open.

Agreed, I would say its mandatory. For $72 it should be the absolute first mod people do.

$72 prevents $2,000 in repairs, or add another 1 to 2K if you got to replace the whole doff and cant find a new one.

Today I finally wrapped up a project that has been in the works since I bought my truck over 2 years ago! I finally installed my lift and got new tires to match.

I couldn't be happier with the look and the ride!

Here are my specs: Front Bilstein 6112 coilovers set at the highest setting (2.6) for a non-KDSS 2020 TRD ORP
Rear: Bilstein 5160 reservoir shocks, with Bilstein 1.5/2" springs.
    SPC UCA
Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T 285-70-17

I have no rubbing at all, and have not had to perform any of the popular mods associated with larger tires. BMC, Mud Flap trim, or viper cut. The tires feel awesome, but so far have only transported me from DT back to my house.

I was able maintain the slight rake that came from the factory, which should make me level when I add some gear in the back.
