What did they charge for shipping? My local dealer is slightly cheaper online, but they no longer have a pickup option, and sometimes shipping is a little high.

    I'm looking at:
    43512-60191 x2 = 111.24
    42431-60311 x2 = 139.52
    Shipping = 48.28
    Total = 299.04

(And they will probably knock off a few dollars if I leave the items in the cart overnight).

So, I've been fighting some steering viberations, so decided to rotate the tires, re tighten everything again since my lift install. I also removed my spridertrax spacers(only had them in the front).

First off the front strut top hat bolts where all loose(good thing i checked). Also I never noticed how much weight was on my tires, like God damn but whatever my tires are soon needing replaced.

Well after a quick test drive, the viberations are pretty much gone.

Yeah I don't have the bro stance anymore. But I'll take it for a smooth ride.

I'm betting your vibes was from one of your front tires (that is now in the back).

When you rotate it back to the front, I think you'll see vibes again.

I always change my oil between 3-5k miles, regardless of what the manual or oil brands recommend. That’s just marketing. I seen the video and agree 100%. I love the car care nut.

Its going to another shop instead of the dealer for road force balance and alignment. If the viberations still there, then its the tires.

But I was thinking some of my viberation was due to loose top hat bolts.

Also I had a similar situation with my tacoma, it always had a slight viberation at 50-60mph, but with the spidertrax spacers the viberation increased. Everyone love running wheel spacers to increase the stance but on my setup they are unnecessary

Yes, loose suspension components are never good, obviously. It could definitely accentuate a problem or create one of its own.

However, I still think one of your tires is the culprit.

I had the vibes on stock tires with SR5 wheels. Replaced the SR5 wheels to Offroad wheels with the same stock tires. Still had vibes.

Replaced the stock tires with Firestone 285's and had it Road Force Balanced. All the vibes were gone.

Put Spidertrax spacers on. Still no vibes. Smooth as silk.

I installed a switch. I could have made my life easy by ordering a toyota style switch, but nooooo, I needed to have a toggle switch.

    upload_2022-8-11_20-9-33.jpg

I refuse to say how long it took me to install this switch. And no, I didnt have any time left over to wire it up to anything.

If you have a chance, I’d like to see a photo of your truck from the side- so i can better see what the wrapped fenders look like. Neat idea.

They have been a fantastic tire. I like them a lot. Awesome wet traction. Really good on trails and dry pavement. Comfortable ride. Light. Only tested them a few times in snow and they did great there as well. I will need new tires before winter, but all said and done they will have lasted 75,000 miles.

I would buy another set in a heartbeat, but I can't bring myself to buy the same tire twice. I'm always curious to try something different. I'm sure I'll regret not getting a second set because they tick so many boxes. It will be hard for the next tire to perform as well as these have for me.

If you're lucky, the new tire will only last half as long as your Firestones and you'll be back in them in no time! :mudding:

I did version 2 of my sleeping platform. I’m by no means a carpenter. My last platform was half the thickness. And it warped and cracked because of it. So I went with 3/4 sande plywood. I also had them cut two 18”x34” pieces to make either a slide out table or possibly a hinged table with some legs. Haven’t decided. At the moment it provides a very solid base under the platform. It is almost perfectly flat. Mine was about 3/8” off with v1.

I have it bolted in the front and then I zip tie it with industrial zip ties in the rear. It’s not going anywhere. In second pic, I added another 2x4 so I could ultimately mount a fridge slide.

Im in a better mood now that I finished installing my cheap LED pods. LOL.

I’m a “deliberate” worker (aka slow), so I just finished up at 2am after starting in earnest in the evening. Dont like the lights, but the hard part is done, so I can swap out LEDs at will.

Question though: I noticed battery voltage is only mid 13v with the vehicle running. I noticed this before on my OBD, but never asked. Is this the normal 4runner voltage???

After 6 years, the step bars need a little POR-15 TLC

After 6 years, the nerf bars need a little TLC. POR-15 to the rescue.

I sanded and used a steel brush to get rid of the surface rust, but didn't bother to smooth out the rust that's bubbling from under the paint.

Hopefully I can just replace these with rocksliders in a few years.

The alternator is a “smart” alternator. Here is a link to show you how to “fix” that problem. Worked fine in my runner.

$150? I guess you’re in the US, here in Canada it’s $263 +13% tax from Toyota. That’s the price of one my tires. Don’t tell my wife :(

Always wanted to try some General Grabbers.

Had some KO2's on a work truck a while ago but they were E-load. Always been curious to try some C-loads.

Falken Wildpeaks were on the short list too.

Did the wheel liner mod to reduce some of the rubbing when backing out of my sloped driveway.

Received the hood scoop decal in the mail to prevent the annoying glare I'm getting during sunrise and sunset. When it's not 100 degrees out I will put that on after a car wash.

Mine have been on for almost 5 years. This is the second person I saw here redoing their NFABs.
Geeze, now I guess I will have to do mine too. They are staring to look a bit ratty. Now I just need to get my self moving. Winter is coming!
