Can any of you compare/contrast 3M paint protection film vs Xpel? Advantages or disadvantages to either one? Good or bad experiences?

I cannot compare the two but I had Xpel put on my ORP hood, mirrors, front bumper and grill in May. So far I like it but it’s only two months. I saw one dimple in it near fog light the diameter of a toothpick so it’s minor. The place I went to said to park in sun and now I don’t notice it. They will re do it if I want this fall.

Xpel had kits made for the OR which is close to ORP in most ways. It’s amazing to me how very very close you have to look. I can’t tell in the hood it’s there. On the front bumper/grill you have to look so close.

My tech who installed it said the curves in some areas warrant a little slack if you will you will to prevent puckering.

I plan to re do it every 10 years. I liked this idea better than small stone chips and a hood guard.

Also some waxes work better they said with film. I can share the wax I have just for those areas if interested

I had Xpel film applied to the front of mine for about two and one half years now. I am very happy with the protection. Since my truck is black, any rock chip exposes the light grey primer underneath and naturally draws your eye to the blemish. The Xpel has proven to be durable and tough. I have no experience with the 3M.
