Lmao There is nothing to grab onto on those round ladders when it’s wet and muddy and you need to pull something off the roof. You *will bust your ass trying to use it or you will bypass the Barbie ladder and stand on the tire because it’s safer. :p

Is everyone saying the ladder is sketchy climbing these things after finishing a bottle of Everclear, dipping your hands and feet in personal lubricant and then parking under a waterfall and attempting to climb the hatch ladder while wearing catchers mitts and high heels??

Um, yeah? I thought that’s how you’re supposed to. Which is why they’re useless.

Haven't been wet and muddy yet .... I have found out so far the one leg technique is working. One leg on the ladder the other on the bumper then lopped on the roof to gain access to boxes for recovery gear or take the boxes off when in between trips. Was very skeptical of the Gobi, skinny ladder and my 6'4" 250lb big ass and being an old man, but then again i'm not looking to paint the house off it. So far so good. Will report back when wet and muddy. Or maybe I'll use common sense and stay off it when wet and muddy. Wouldn't you risk busting your ass on a muddy tire with muddy boots?

I am partial to the Baja rack ladder because it kind of follows the body lines. I just thought it looked a little nicer than the straight gobies. Just personal preference though. Sam is the gobi, no drill

This is probably a stupid question and I'm missing the obvious answer but why don't manufacturers make ladders that mount on the passenger side of the hatch? For my use case that would be prefect.

Perhaps because it’s the least conspicuous when you look out the back over your shoulder.
