Fake TRD Pro for sale???

Check out this local "TRD PRO" for sale. Doesn't have the TRD roof rack...ok...maybe they changed it out. Has the softex seats but no seat heaters. Can't tell if there is a sunroof. Must be a TRD off-road and they switched out the seats, wheels and trim pieces and stuck on some TRD badges?

I mean, it says TRD off road on the side and ya click the carfax and it says TRD premium………………….how many dots can I add……….

 

Looks like a TRD Pro to me. Toyota went to the roof basket style rack in 2020 I believe.

If it's not a TRD someone spent alot to make a good example.

Seats aren't heated in TRD Pro. Tube-style rack is 2020+. It doesn't have auto climate control (standard on TRD Pros today) but a quick search suggests they offered both with and without auto climate control on the Pros in 2019. It's probably a legit Pro.

 

My buddy's 2019 TRD Pro doesn't have 2 zone automatic climate control. I don't see JBL sound and roof rack so could be 2018 / early 2019 TRD Pro. Maybe?
If anyone can do a VIN check can say if its a TRD Pro or not for sure.

Yeah Jynarik is right. That isn't a TRD Pro. 19s come with the tube rack, no heated seats, no TRD on the headrests, no JBLs, the hood scoop is NOT black, and no sunroof. Try again. It's a TRD Off Road with seat covers.

I'll add it also has gray stitching on the seats. Pros have red. It's a fake.

My TRD Offroad have red stiching.

 

With that being the case, it is kinda like the best of both worlds with it having KDSS.

 

Correct, but Pro's have red stitching, never gray. I should have been more specific.

Edit to add: The TRD Pro on the rear hatch is also wrong. It should be in line like in my profile pic. The TRD Pro logo is never offset like TRD Offroad

 

It doesn't say off road on the side. Someone replaced the emblems with TRD PRO emblems. It's definitely not a TRD PRO. Seems pretty shady that the dealership is advertising it as a PRO though. This dealership is well known for shenanigans.

In their defense, they probably don't "know". Look at the back and forth in the thread - there are arguments for and against. I'd say they priced it as "not a pro" so maybe they do know...

 

Punch in the VIN number and done. But definitely not a pro. Look at the suspension...easy and done.

 

A dealership should never have any trouble telling a PRO from a faux-PRO. If they don't know, it's because they don't want to know.

Either way, there's no excuse for them to be advertising it as a PRO.
