Hi everyone, I was out wheeling today and came back and found my front axel is snapped clean off. There is no question that I need to replace it. My question is this, should I get OEM parts or replace it with heavier duty parts (so as to prevent this from happening again)?

Just fyi, its a 96 sr5 with about 400k miles on it.

    Thanks in advance!

You won't find a heavier duty aftermarket CV, best to just go down to an auto parts store and snag a new axle for around $150-200

400k miles! You probably meant 40k correct? Sorry to hear about the axle.

He probably did mean 400k these trucks can last that long, i would be more impressed if it had 40k, a 96 with less than 50k is unheard of.
