Hello all - I am having an issue with my 1995 4runner 3vze. A few weeks ago the windows stopped working but after driving about a mile or so they began to work again. Now they will not work at all including the tailgate window switch (it still works with the key in the tailgate). I have replaced the driver side master switch, a 30 AMP pink fuse in the driver side kick panel that was corroded, I have inspected the wires in the door and it all looks solid. I also replaced all the window motors about a year ago. I am at a loss right now was wondering if anyone else has been in my shoes! Any suggestions or solutions?

    Thank you

Do you have an idea of where this might be?

Couldn't find the bad ground wire in the door - such a small area. The power source to the switch is the blue wire with a red stripe (at one of the ends of the connector) just above the ground wire that is white and black. I followed this down the interior of the door and spliced this wire and attached it too a bolt in the door. All the windows, including the tailgate, and lock are now working.

    Thanks for the help.

Does the ground for the power windows and locks from the master switch ground through the integration module or directly to a chassis ground?
    Thanks.

Looks like it goes to the integration module near the drivers feet.

Yep, got it fixed yesterday. White with black tracer(ground) broke in the drivers door jamb. Soldered and heat shrieked back together, all works well again.

Hey guys, necrothreading but I created an account just to say thank you. Was diagnosing all windows not working on a '93 4Runner for a friend and finally stumbled upon this thread.

Upon the advice and experiences here I ran a supplementary ground to the wht/blk wire and voila! all the windows came back to life. I was hopeful the second I noticed the driver's window "Auto" text illuminate.

I couldn't find a good ground within the door (makes sense as you'd be relying on the hinges -- but maybe the continuity would improve thru the striker only when the door is closed) so I snaked (barely) a wire thru the accordian boot with my poly fishtape and grounded under dash.

Lots of threads try to blame the integration relay, door module, master switch etc but I had a feeling it was something small and simple - and it was.

Just wanted to reinforce this by posting here for the NEXT guy searching the web as I was...

Having this exact problem with my ‘95 4Runner. Wiggled the accordion wire bundle at the driver door and voila the locks and windows started working but only for a moment. So it’s sort out a new ground wire I think. Thanks for the simple advice!
