So we did some panels on my Wrangler recently that came out really well. This got me thinking about doing a scooped Hood for my 4Runner.... It's a 19 magnetic gray metallic and I was curious if anybody has painted their own or had any experience.

I have personally never seen an area that big turn out well. I would get it professionally painted

Something that size, if you have any application errors is going to show even more. Some things are worth having a professional do them (electricity, plumbing, HVAC). I would add automotive painting to that list.

I've never seen one but here is a mock up of my MGM with a black hood. It's quick and down and dirty but it might give you an idea of how it could look.

If you must have the scoop there's company's like review and paintedautoparts.com or something like that...

Spray painting a hood will never turn out right

Raptor lining might look good on it. Definitely will give it a more rugged off roadish look.
