Three inch lifts are the maximum upper limit. More than 3 and the angles of the CVS, driveshafts, and creating large differences between travel on compression vs travel extension.

2in lifts are an ideal max.

Spacer kits often create more problems than a proper suspension lift (with coils and shocks specifically designed for the new geometry and travel).

Thanks for the replies all. Wife has the 4runner and wanted to hear thoughts since they are the only ones who make such a kit so far for XREAS. Had the RC 3.5 on my 18 Tundra (1st pic) for a couple years with no issues but I never put it through any beatings. CV angles weren’t too bad. I’d imagine if you’re out flexing it often it would be a problem. I yanked it out after that and went with a 6” Maxtrac (2nd pic). Obviously though without dropping the diff on any vehicle, it will not be ideal for geometry.

Please send picture updates with whatever path you decide on taking! I have the same exact 4Runner (wife's). May be easier to get her approval if she can see exactly what hers would look like lifted
