    For the nerds.

I have a 2018 TRD PRO, just purchased.

I come from the Tacoma world and I already have TechStream. When I purchased this it only came with 2 keys, both G keys, but with no unlock/lock buttons. Purchased 2 G keys off Amazon with unlock/lock and went through programming on TS. Keys work to start the vehicle now no issue, programming successful.

…but……… the lock/unlock buttons still don’t work. What am I missing here? Is programming not hitting the actual buttons because the “master key” I’m using doesn’t have buttons??

There is an option to completely reset the immobilizer code, including the ECU that requires a password. Already figured out the keygen for that, would cost me $80 for the password keygen.

Question here is if that is even the issue or maybe the keys are just shit. I would rather not take a trip to Toyota and pay for stuff that can be remedied in my driveway.

I’ve already had to program radar and crap myself on the Tacoma so I’m not “techo-tarded.” …send help.

You have to go into the main body ECU and into utilities and program the remote separate from the immobilizer

    Toyota Key

Friend of mine used this for the AJT key mod instead of hacking up his OEM keys. Working well for him so far.

    Thanks @JETSPD1477 , I forgot to mention I have a 2018 4Runner. That Amazon listing states "2010-2016 Toyota 4Runner", so I'm assuming it wouldn't work.

The key I linked should be a GKey 12BBY. Standard key for our trucks up to 2019 except for Limited I believe.

Look on your key for a G and 12BBY in the Denzo part number.

Program the key and remote before having it cut by a locksmith.

TechStream is the only way I know of. I believe locksmiths use a device to program that I think can be rented.
