New owner wanting leveling/lift suggestion

    I have searched through the thread and there are so many posts on leveling, lifts, suspension upgrades - so I'm looking for an opinion on the following use..

    This is my wife's vehicle, her daily driver. We take trips to the mountains and do some trail driving - nothing crazy, but steep, rocky roads and some deep deep potholes or ruts. We aren't going to overland or deck this thing out - so you could probably call us posers.

    I would like to level the vehicle out. I know that the wheel wells won't be level, I just want the 4runner (unloaded) to sit level and not raked down in the front.

    I put a 2.5" spacer and 1" spacer (I think) on my Jeep Gladiator before parting ways with it.

    It still always looked like it dipped down in the front a bit.

    So all this to say - we want the 4Runner to sit level.

    Anyone have any suggestions on size leveling kit or lift and brand/maker? I don't want anything too high. We aren't looking to change wheel and tires size on this vehicle.

    My opinion:

    Get a pair of Eibach adjustable shocks up front. You can set them to lift the front either 0.8", 1.6", or 2.5" using your stock coils. They ride really nice on road and are very capable offroad. About $140/shock.

    I would just set them to 0.8" and leave it at that but if you want to go higher, you could always get a spacer for the rear.

    I agree with the Corn Fed spacers. I put the 1/2" spacer on and got a 1" lift on my SR5 and the stance was perfect, with the stock bumper and no winch.

    No pics as I have since upgraded the suspension.

    Everyone has an opinion about what would work for leveling a T4R ORP and I suppose I do as well.

    I have a 2021 OR and wanted to address both leveling and the nose dive when breaking and general “land yacht” handling. I changed my OEM shocks to Bilstein 5100’s and set the front adjustable shocks at the .85” setting. I ended up with a 1” lift in front, reduced the nose dive by 90% and firmed up the general handling. I’ve included a pic of the “after” below….

    I’m very happy with the results. So, another option for you to consider…

    Thanks Bob. I ordered a spacer from Cornfed for now. We will see if that gives me what I want in terms of fixing the factory rake.

    You still running factory tires size, or did you go up? Just curious because I'm looking at a similar setup and would like to at least run a 275 and make sure it's not rubbing in the front. Thank you.

    I’m still running the OEM Dunlops so can’t comment on running 275’s. I have read many posts that 275’s fit fine on OEM wheels with no lift but can’t confirm.

    I plan to swap to BFG K02’s down the road but plan to go with 265’s to avoid any clearance issues and to try to minimize unsprung weight gain….

    But, everyone has different goals for their rig…

    Thanks. I do want to lift because that rack looks a bit tacky to me. Nothing crazy though because it's still my daily.

    Same here, although I went with Eibach set at .80 as @nimby recommended. Perfect for what I wanted.

    1" in the back will make it level with no weight.

    If you start putting any weight in the back, the rear will sag and you will start to go nose high.
