Anyone happen to know which cabin air filter part we need? I googled and searched the site and so many come up.
87139-YZZ10 was said to be OEM but on Toyota's site it comes up as not being available.

I see 8713907020, 87139-50100, and another one or two. Help please!

    I was just pricing these
    8713907020 is standard filter
8718950100 is charcoal priced higher and suppose to help with odor.

    bone stock for now
New owner here. I am so happy this filter is so easy to change. I have owned a 2013 and 2016 Chevy Silverado pickups for the past few years and you have to remove the glove box and then there are several small screws that have to be removed to get to the filter. You also have to be a contortionist from the circus to get the dang filter out of the Chevy trucks. I have a very large sycamore tree in the front yard that sheds so much stuff and the cabin filter has to be changed more than normal for me. Thanks for posting this question... And thanks for the answers!

Does the charcoal filter really make a big difference?

Not in my experience. You would need a huge block of activated carbon to really clean up the cabin air after I’ve polluted it!
What you get in any of these filters is a small sprinkling of carbon dust embedded in the fibers.

Wouldn't a carbon filter just make it harder to tell if its dirty?

I personally change based on airflow and smells that were once neutralized by the filter are noticeable again.

Are these better than carbon / chacoal activated ones? Or what would be the best of the best cabin filter?

Seriously, the cabin filters don’t need to be expensive elaborate high filtration N95 washable carbon impregnated devices. They all are thin height to fit into the holder and they all do an adequate job catching leaves, pine needles, big crud, and dust. Just buy inexpensive ones and change them often.

These Bosch HEPA ones seems to be pretty cheap. My "Amazing" dual zone automatic HVAC system likes to select fresh/recycle air on its own, so I would not notice it selecting fresh air on its own. I (or anyone in car) don't want to be breathing in pollen & dust. That is why I ask if there is a better cabin air filter like this "high efficiency particulate air" filter that claims to be doing better job vs regular ones? maybe?

I did not buy as some have complained the air flow is restricted.

    Edit -
For anyone wonder why I was looking for HEPA filters - https://www.epa.gov/indoor-air-quality-iaq/what-hepa-filter

Somebody posted this to the forum awhile back. (Also includes Rav4 mirror mod part numbers if you’re interested)

No I'm using this FRAM one.
People seem to complain that HEPA filters restrict the air flow.

I replace mine based on time, not mileage. At least once per year. Maybe more depending on how much I travel on dusty roads or during pollen season.
