There's no way a turbo 4 6th gen will be 48k the 5th gen trdorp can be as high as 52k fully loaded

6th gen will start base model at least 52k about 62k for trd pro 58k for trdorp

Maybe but I don't know the 23 Sequoia is coming in at 62k with a TTV6. For just 10,000 more I'd go ahead and get the Sequoia

I would like to “fit free wheeling hubs” on my 4runner. We should do this instead of worrying about the needle bearing.

Save some cash for an extended warranty on the turbo 4 banger too. I would not buy that with the intent of holding for the long term. Jury will still be out on long term durability

I would agree, but mostly for the first year or two. I think they'll work the bugs out and get us a pretty bulletproof drivetrain.

If they do a removable top, I'm going to have a hard time not jumping on one!

Of course, who knows what these renderings are coming from. The actual production model might not look anything like that.

I am sure after a few years they will yep. I will hold off till then.

Hopefully they keep or enhance the towing capacity.

It sounds like the turbo 4 will have similar torque to the 4th gen V8's. I can't recall if they had a higher towing capacity, though. :notsure:

Towing with a turbo four will be interesting. It’s hard for me still to comprehend how a 4 turbo Ford Ranger tows 7,000lbs as an example. With it running so not common sense tells me the it hurts durability.

Maybe I am old school though in my 40s lol

I get it. But, I4's are naturally tough motors. I think it will be ok, as long as people don't drive them like race cars.

    Edit:. 43 here.

Nothing's black or white in this world of infinite gray, but there can only be incremental improvements. Like my previous post about electric 5 ton haulers from 1907, designers can do what they want according to demand, and there ain't much that can be done about it. If the people want long-haul EVs, it'll happen

Yeah I like old school thats why I bought mine last year. Old school and simple.

If they offer a removable top I hope a hard top is still available too. I get the appeal but for me personally I like the security of the hard top. Hopefully two choices are offered

Damn, the poll has been tampered with. Wrong answer is now winning.

I hope the "leave it alone" crowd aren't voting based on price. It's going to be the same price whether it gets an updated drivetrain or not. I just hope the price hike isn't too bad over the current generation.

Nah, I voted “leave it alone” mostly based on rigid inflexibility and fear of new things. I consider it an endearing trait.

Seriously though, I’d be all for a removable top if it’s fiberglass, like jeeps. Glass would not be safe with me. When Im messing with attaching brackets on the roof rails, I always put down a towel after I drop a wrench on the roof. :tinfoilhat:

Another possibility with a removable top, is an Alucab pop top! I’d be all over that.

But in reality, in 20 years, Im gonna be that old guy with the sweet 5th gen. :D

I ain't waiting 75 minutes for anything much less 150 miles worth of charge to pull my boat back home after fishing all day in 94 degrees. these lightning and rivian folks must be off their rocking chair. Maybe if lonnghorn steakhouse drops in superchargers every where I fish lol

Hopefully we can still buy gas for our boats as we retire. Maybe they will take that sport away from us also.

It might be easier to just go back to the 1850 s way of living
