Thank you for this! I have been wanting to do this myself but have been hesitant b/c I couldn't find a workup/DIY write up. You just made my day!

This also makes it easy to get past the "but you have all this extra wiring" claims at the dealer. Just remove or trip the breaker and you're 99% disconnected.

Not trying to be a jerk, but why would anyone not just put them in a pocket so they don't make noise? The only reason I like push button start is because it eliminated noise from keys.

I either clip them on my pants or hang them there. Typically hang them there when I do extended trips or when I leave the truck running with the wifey and dog in it. I hate having crap in my pockets!

There's been a lot of complaints about push to start and not having an area to place keys. Figured I share a cheap and quick solution.:D

20220616_194914.jpg Didn’t all happened today, started few weeks ago, when time permited, most of it waiting for parts to arrive and looking for tools that I just used 2 minutes before hand. I swear that 10mm socket has legs. I put red electrical tape on it. It seems to help.

Thank you. TBH, it does irk me a bit that this was offered in lower trims after 2020... shouldn't the whole point of exclusive colorways remain exclusive? Seeing them on trails, trd sports etc does grind my gears a bit... especially when they're then badged out and modified to look like a pro... but hey, not hating, just stating.

Yep. I too hate keyfobs + push button start. I keep my keys in a Faraday box when they are at home. Old keys with the chip was so much safer.

The chip isn't much better. Just a different way to break it.

Dropped off my 2022 ORP for the lift kit and tire/whee install tomorrow. This is the same equipment that I just had removed from my 2020 ORP a few weeks ago. Looking forward to getting it back on Friday and having it for the weekend.

Wrong. You cannot use a relay box for a older key with a chip. This common relay box stealing only works on key fobs that come for push button starts.

I had a couple GM cars with the Passlock system. If the system detects tampering with the ignition, the system cuts gas from the engine for 10 minutes. Worked so well, I couldn't even start my car with the proper key sometimes.

Purchased my 2019 MGM ORP almost 3 weeks ago. Surprisingly it had zero door dings. Figured it was just a matter of time but I decided to try to do something about it. Purchased color matched body side moldings. Got my set off ebay but they were manufactured by https://www.dawn-ent.com/.

    1) Ran it through the carwash to get all the dirt off.
    IMG-1791.jpg

    2) Measured (per the instructions) at two points on each door.
IMG-1792.jpg Used my wife's lip liner pencil (with her permission) to mark the points. They're the small pink dots in the photo.

    3) Applied painters tape along the marks.
IMG-1794.jpg After applying the tape I double checked my measurements.

    4) Cleaned area with alcohol pad and then used the supplied bond promoter on the area where the molding would go.

    5) Applied the rear door first.
    IMG-1795.jpg

    6) Applied front door molding and removed the tape. Rubbed with a clean cloth to ensure a good bond.
    IMG-1796.jpg

Finished product. The paint match was spot on. Not a difficult job. Basically your measure twice, install once type of deal. Hopefully they will do their job and save me from some door dings.

I wish Toyots Security service can stop the car like GMs On-Star.

I think 2019s and older the Security service will end this year if I'm not mistaken. I'm still paying for that, $8/mon :). I think this service can locate the vehicle.

I installed a remote start and got the GPS add-on. My 4Runner doesn't have the SOS button or any security service that I know of other than the sticker on the window.

Washed the car last Saturday and did a 5 wheel tire rotation. Doing so made me think to mention two tools I have found very useful when rotating tires.

I have found this torque wrench to be the best for the money. You can but a more expensive torque wrench and you can buy a less expensive torque wrench; but I have found this one to be a great one that sits in the middle with regard to price and is extremely accurate.

The jack stand rubber pads below are great. They provide such a stable nice surface for your jack stands.

TRD Pro Fox runs on the rough side to my taste compared to Bilstien5100. ELKA 2.5DC are the best I've had but those things are whopping $4040 just for front coil overs and rear shock (no springs). Since the Limited is our 99% city vehicle don't want to spend that price tag. I also think TRD PRO shocks are not meant to use for lift applications. I think its good at stock height / 1in front lift. It would have less travel if lifted. Again just what I think.

    More info-
When the Ironman kit delivered, me and a buddy planning to see what is the lowest height we can set (may be that would make it little more soft?). But the lowest height rear springs they have is 2in (wish they have 1.5in so I can set 2in front). Since me and my buddy installing it we might have room to test.

Replaced my driver side door lock actuator. Passenger side im sure will go out before the end of the year. Too bad Toyota charges $350 for these while this is such a common issue.

You don't have to use Ironman coils on the rear. Get some 1" Eibach lift coils instead.

Added 700 lb front coils, 1.5 in lift to the rear, E load tires and the truck still rides fantastic. The stiffer front springs improved the body roll tremendously as well.

Thank you. Will test around and see. This is our city only 4runner and want a really soft ride. So nose dive and body roll is no problem. All we want is something to absorb all potholes and cracks.:):)
