Jag V-12 was exactly my first thought! It’s a crying shame when zero thought is put into organization…it’s not just about looks.

When the bronco needs engine warranty work, very low chances all of those will be re-connected correctly or at all.

For many years, I bled Ford blue. I had 2 Ranger 4WD trucks and an F-150 4WD. While they were all good trucks and very capable, none of them compare to the Tacoma I have and the 4Runner I have.

Both the Tacoma and the 4Runner are as if not more capable off road. The reliability factor goes to Toyota hands down. Re-sale value goes to Toyota hands down. Ofcourse, the Bronco is new to the market so there is a lot of interest but like many new vehicles that hit the market, after they have been out for a couple of years and when people figure out that the quality is likely going to be sub-par, the interest will decline. Right now, prices are at a premium because of supply chain issues but that will not last forever.

This a a neat rendering but I personally like the 4R the way it is and the size it is.

Everything today is getting smaller which I get from the efficiency perspective.

I love the size of the current 5th Gen. I like the towing capacity and the space inside.

I am guessing the guys that sleep in theirs would not even able to do that if it was the size of the current Bronco, but I guess everything is a tradeoff.

I disagree on the towing capacity of the 4runner. I would expect more like a 6,500 lb towing capacity

I would give serious thought about getting one of those.

Yep. Nice work. Does Toyota even have a convertible in the range? Not including Lexus.
It’s farcically early so I might be missing something obvious.
Could even have the yoots doing sun salutations in the back.
Overlanding and yoga, a potent mix.

I should have been more specific. I’d like at least the 5k capacity like now. More is better yes! The Bronco and Jeeps only go to 3,500 lb towing capacity if memory serves me.

I'm with ya here, I don't think the 4runner could get any better...people complain its underpowered, poor on mpg etc etc. The 5th gen 4runner is roughly the same size as the 80 series land cruiser in which the 4runner has more power and gets better mpg, it even has the same 5000lb towing capacity.

Some friends of ours have a v6 grand Cherokee that has a 6,500 towing capacity. I think the 4runner should be there as well.

I think I recall reading that. I drove one but to be honest the quality scared me off. I also personally felt like having a full frame would be safer from a towing perspective. As I recall the Grand Cherokee is not on a frame

Got that right! That’s why I cancelled and bought the 4R: the long run.

I can't speak to the Bronco (and, indeed, I ordered a 4Runner because of the simpler drivetrain), but my old 300 I6 (4.9L) F150 will likely still be alive when most new cars today are junked. Now, the 4Runner isn't "most new cars" though... (I hope :D)

My dad drove a kickass Bronco back in the 80s. I remember feeling so cool riding in it. Ah, nostalgia :)

There is a NHTSA investigation currently underway for "catastrophic engine failure" on 2021 Bronco's. Might have to recall at least 25,000 Bronco's that are failing under 1000 miles.

Not a huge surprise after seeing pictures of the engine bay. This really sucks for a lot of people.

I generally think of Ford as a good domestic option. This entire new Bronco introduction has been a mess. I guess that's what happens when you start selling something before you finish designing it.

I ordered a Bronco last December. It's now been 6 months and I don't have a VIN or a scheduled build date. If I got the email today saying it was scheduled, it would most likely be an August build with a September delivery. But, as I haven't gotten that email, I doubt it would even show up this year. I ordered the 2.7. Anyway....I'm planning on cancelling that order. I'm currently first on the list, at 2 Toyota dealerships, for the first Solar Octane 2023 TRD PRO that shows up. Love my current PRO and think I'm just gonna stick with Toyota.

Growing up in the Bay Area taught me to never ever buy a 1st release of anything. We are the beta testers for bugs/flaws that the company missed or ignored. From iPods to Car stereos to autos, just wait a bit and let others go through that pain :(

Yup. A part of me is thinking about trading mt '19 for a 6th gen in a few years. But, not until they've been out for a year. Look at the new Tundra. I think they'll be great trucks. But, they're having some issues right now.

I have buddy who just got his first one in and just ordered another .. I have a Jeep Wrangler JLU Rubicon diesel and its a over priced big toy … so is the New Bronco !
Worst thing about Ford if you read the breakdown of parts are from all over the world and makes ford unreliability , GM is even worst than Ford and I’m not a Ford Hater .
They all look nice , even my Jeep that is a way over priced toy compared to my 2022 Pro 4runner . The MSRP on my 2021 Jeep was 68k … I payed no where near that , diesel jeeps don’t sell well in Washington DC so got a great deal last year .
My 2022 Pro was the first vehicle I ever paid MSRP but no markup was 56k and I have have has a lot of 4runner this was the most expensive , is my most reliable vehicle besides my Japanese motorcycles .
Bronco is just a toy like my jeep .. they are using Aluminum LCA is just stupid .
The LC 200 guys are looking for a alternative considering the 200 is discontinued , they can get a LX570 but not the same , hate the grill .
I never buy the first year of anything … I would skip the bronco .

They put substandard teflon timing chain guides and tensioners in those old V6s. I owned a 98', 90k miles when I bought it, heard the rattle one morning, did some research and found out about the timing chain rattles with subsequent engine failures. So I promptly sold it after owning it for 3 weeks.
Are the Ford bean counters forcing a lack of quality in critical engine parts again?
    It would seem so...

WOW!! Viewing the pricing of the 22' Bronco, Wrangler, and even the PRO, makes my 21' 4R/TRD/ORP/MR look like a bargain paying around $42K. Glad I bought when I did.
