I would like some input. I have a '22 ORP with 5500K miles. Put 275 70R 17 Toyo Open Country ATIIIs on it. E load at 51# per tire. No lift yet. Drove on heavily rutted/ potholed road with 1-3" high raised road cracks at high speed and heard low level thumping on seemingly drivers side. Checked for anything loose and shock leak. Nothing evident. Thinking it might have been the bump stop hitting?

Pic is taken of under carriage sitting in the garage.
Might I need better bump stops? Normal? Get my Dobinsons 2.5 - 1.5 lift installed to eliminate noise?

    Thanks

Doubt you need better "bump stops". They are exactly where they are by design and also have the same hit tolerances. This is irrespective if you have a lift or not.

Since you had the issue, has it repeated itself? Have you checked all suspension bolts are torqued to spec?

Maybe 51 lbs is a bit stiff for E tires. I keep around 35 in mine, been thinking about dropping to 32.

No problem before or after driving on that beater road. Classic Tucson desert thrashed "paved" road.
I am an old guy so probably won't be checking torque values. Could have a friend do it for me.
    Thanks

51# is weight of tire, not pressure. 35# of pressure.
    Thanks

The stock suspension setup may be having a harder time controlling the extra weight of the tires, so it could be your theory is right. It might be relying on the bump-stops more than before.
