Dying issue

Ive got a 90 runner with the junk 3.0 ik everyone swaps 3.4 swap or sbc but moneys tight don't wanna mess with that I have a spare motor and tranny for my runner anyway my issue is i can b driving and come to a stop and my truck just dies now and it has a hard time starting back up it back fire like its out of time and what not which after u let it sit for a sec it fire back up but Im at a loss with this and I have many events coming up and I want it to be ready

 

Still haven't figured it out kinda irritating. I have no clue
