I know some folks prefer the extra headroom without. That is the only potential downside I see.

I've had several Toyotas with moonroofs, and never a leak. The T-tops on my '87 MR2 were another story, though.

In general, all equipment purchased for Camping without doing a sample camp. Must have blown a good $700 on stuff I now will never use. Biggest blunder though was Buying a Yeti for almost $300 when my Fridge/Freezer combo was $410.

Gave the yeti away to a friend that helped me get my lift kit installed.....

Mike Tyson once said "Everybody has a plan till they get punched in the mouth". Think the same applies to offroading/camping etc.

NONE!!! Bought my SR5 Premium used, so we got what it had; no complaints although we haven't used the 3rd row seating yet.

Getting ready to install mine soon. I use the A-pillar grab handle in my Tacoma every single time that I get in it, and it irritates me to no end that a higher end vehicle like the 4Runner does not have it. Every time I get in the 4Runner I am reaching for something that is not there... YET!

Good choice. Are you installing the bracket and oem handle described in the T4R.org link I had in my post?

Yes, that is the one. It seems the most sturdy to me, and has good fasteners.

Just outta curiosity why do so many loathe the predator steps? I'm not a fan of how they look personally, and definitely love my n-fab bars over them, but why the hate? Is it because they are not a true off road function?

In my case, it was because of how low the steps hung down. My wife used them every time to get in, but she doesn't mind the slider step I have now.

If she didn't use the sliders for a step, I'd consider going without anything. I like that look the best.

My glove box thingie got tossed after a couple days, along with the console tray (the console organizer is great). I'll find some bags for the glovebox instead of that wobbly mess.

I regret doing head unit integration rather than replacement. Tried line level inputs, then a keyloc, and finally a DSP before getting acceptable results. Also adding an 8" factory sub enclosure was not worth the effort/expense, but I wouldn't have bothered if I didn't have a 3-row.

I spent too much time and money with exhaust options in hopes I could find something nice and sportier and just couldn't get anything so ended up settling with the OEM for peace and quiet.

    Bumping this older Thread...

I'm on the fence about CanvasBack. I went to the site and was quoted over $700 for complete coverage of Cargo area (cargo liner, rear 2nd row seats, 2 plastic sides, hatch), 2nd row seats, and 2nd row head rests. Of course selecting red accent stitching jacked up the price. Most of all this in preparation of traveling with our dog. Seems rather crazy to spend this much money just for protection. I also had a similar feeling about PPF on the truck and decided against it (wife thought I was crazy for even considering it).

1st Brand New Vehicle... definitely bleeding the wallet more than I thought it would :(
I envy the normal people who just drive their new vehicle and enjoy it as it is.

That's one problem owning a late model 4Runner. There are sooooo many after-market add-on's available. Your credit card soon becomes abused. LOL

What about just buying a moving blanket from Home Depot ? Cover the whole back end for under 20 bucks .

Much agree with Nick. Those blue-colored (or other) moving blankets are great. One blanket typically will cover the entire back area with the rear seat(s) down. They also make good ground picnic blankets. Buying one or two of these blankets, you won't believe how much you will use them. Highly recommended.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
Running boards….I thought the wife would like them but I guessed wrong….again….go figure…..

I really like it! So easy to pull out and toss back in. Semi-rigid. No weird bends in it. Holds small amount of liquid from hitting carpet. No deep ridges so just a quick wipe down with a washcloth and it's clean.

    And there you have it!
This is what makes forums valuable.
I find that it slides around too much and too easily while you have found it useful. This still may help inform others that might be considering... Cool

I get annoyed by how easily it slides lol. It can slide a couple inches forward and back? One of these days I'm gonna try a small piece of stick on Velcro in the 4 corners.

The front anytime camera. I tried to make this work so many times and somehow there is a compatability issue with the head unit and the front camera. Garbage IMO.

I can't say I regret it, but the costliest accessory I've never used is traction boards. Perhaps their opportunity awaits, but I try to avoid getting stuck since my adventures are often solo.
