Can anyone comment on the height difference between the ORP and a Pro?

Toyota's website shows below (only 1/2 inch more for Pro??) This seem very hard to believe given the roof rack alone, and maybe the tires being taller? 71.5 versus 72 inches.

My current ORP fits in the garage nicely and I can open the tailgate. I am wondering if a Pro could as well? Too bad my local dealer has none to drive home to see.

The TRD Pro is a little lifted
It's leveled, as some call it

Before I lifted mine, I parked side by side with a Pro. I think the front end of the Pro sat about an inch higher. I don't think opening the tailgate will be a problem.

71 vs 72 is at the roof line, not the roof racks. Front of Pro rnages from 1/2-3/4" on average from what Ive read and notice between my ORP and my neighbors 21 Pro.

It's been posted elsewhere on the site; I think the Pro actually comes in at around 77". Search 'pro' and 'garage' and see what you can find; another member ended up not being able to park in his garage because he was going with the height you've shown above and it was incorrect.

With my lift, I can still fit in my garage. If I had the basket on top like the Pro model, I wouldn't fit.

It seems that the PRO is lifted about 1" in the front. The rear is the same. Tires are the same. So, the rack is probably the only part that's actually higher.

Thanks guys appreciate the feedback. Yeah I have been researching this an measuring my garage door. Its not looking like the Pro will fit in my garage with that rack.

I was starting to think of getting the Octane Solar Pro and selling my 21 Silver ORP but now I am thinking not. I am definitely not keeping an a vehicle like these outside.

How tall is the opening? Maybe somebody with a PRO can get an exact measurement for you.

Fwiw, I am lifted 1.5" in the rear, and just barely clear 7' with a Yakima Megawarrior basket. I'm pretty sure it's as tall or taller than the Pro rack.

Unfortunately, a lot of garage doors seem to be around 80".

Your liftgate, not tailgate, might make contact with the door lip.

    79.5 sounds about right.

My garage door height is 82.5 and I believe I have about 2-3 inches of clearance with the TRD roof rack.

Most aftermarket roof racks on the market will clear it even more. That TRD rack is really tall

True, most flat racks will give more clearance. But, I like my Jurassic Park basket. :D

I wonder how the pro rack compares to the Yakima basket offered on some of the other trims.

You could always take the rack off.

I like the Solar Octane color, but not sure I'd trade my current 4Runner for it.

Seems like a pretty good way to justify a flat rack.

Thanks guys I am at 81" opening with a rubber lip on the floor that prevents rain water from entering. The only other factor is being Michigan sometimes the concrete outside goes up and down bit in winter time which nobody can predict when.

I would hate to take off factory rack as I am assuming you need to drill new wholes for say an ORP rack? That would sort of suck.

Maybe I will just keep the 21 ORP and save my money, its nice to day dream though.

People swap the Pro rack onto non Pros all the time. They use the same mounting holes.
