Hey guys, thought I would share what I found on Amazon. Finally, a tempered glass screen protector for those easily scratched 2020+ displays. I tried one of the custom films some are using and could not get the bubbles out of it, I just got this tempered protector in and it fit perfectly and actually makes the display look sharper. I couldn't find where someone has posted this already, hopefully this isn't a duplicate thread!

Nice find. I have have one made for a fire pad and works fine but has a whole for a speaker or something.
Does this one go on easy?
Also here's a running thread if you wanted to post for others to find

Yes it went on very easily, makes it easier too if you just line it up against the top bezel that is notched.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I installed the Wonderfulhz one linked in the first post a couple hours ago. It seems fine. I haven't driven around with it yet, but it seems fine. Touch controls still work okay. It also came with a little alcohol pad, a little cloth, and some weird rectangular thing that I have no idea what it's for. I tossed the cloth and the rectangular thing in the glasses holder in case I need them.

If I have any problems, I'll be back to complain. I'm not expecting any problems, though. It went on much like my cell phone and Nintendo Switch tempered glass screen protectors. I followed e_alvarez91's advice about the top bezel, too. It was a little awkward to apply the screen protector in the wide orientation, but it was fine.

Oh yeah, it's definitely for the 8 inch display. Are there actually any 2020 4runners with the smaller screen/no navigation out there? Every one I saw in the lot at my dealership had the 8 inch screen.

Glad it worked out for you! Yes, I believe all 2020+ have the 8" display.

Thanks for the tip :) And I just went to the Toyota specs page for the 4runner. Yeah, it's 8 inches all around. For some reason I though there was 6.1 inches being used on the ones without GPS on the 2020s.

It's funny. I went through all the trouble to get a screen protector for my 4Runner, and I don't think I've even touched the screen for a whole month

Thanks! Just ordered one. Like you, I tried the other kind and could not get the bubbles out.

Wish I had known about this before I noticed all the surface scratches when the sun hits it.

I read about this issue before I got the pro. Took this ammo to the dealer and sure as heck, the only truck (I wanted) has a scratched screen. Told them I wanted a new radio or I walk. They took me out to the lot and had me look at a screen in a nightshade. It was flawless so they did a swap right on the spot & let me watch in the shop. My mistake? I didn't look close before I drove it home that day. Morons scratched it when they did the swap:annoyed:

2+ years later it is still holding up and looks like it did when I put it on. No peeling, cracks, scratches, etc.

On of the first accessories I purchased. Didn't bother me much in my 19 but heard some horror stories about the 20+ so I decided to throw one on. It is pretty reflective just to be advised. Dosnt bother me much until it lines up "just right"

All the air bubbles came out pretty good except for the bottom right edge. When this one get chipped or dried, I'll get the film like on my phone. Just personal preference. That's the exact one I ordered and installed a few weeks ago.

e_alvarez91 - Thank you for this post! I just picked up my new 2022 TRD ORP on Saturday and this screen protector was the first after market product I installed (I ordered it ahead time based on your recommendation) I just wanted to thank you for this post, it works great, looks great, no issues at all so far. Much appreciated!

I ordered it on Amazon yesterday and it came today. Thanks for the link! I think it makes the screen clearer. Touch still works fine even though I don’t use it. I just ordered one for my sons RAV4

I bought one of these for my 4Runner when it was new, before I even picked it up. Took it to the dealership and stopped at a phone accessories store. Not an att or sprint, but one of the ma and pop “screen repair” joints. For a 5 dollar tip, she installed my protector in moments, with zero frustration on my part. She sat in the 4R on her own and waited for the dust to settle, had all the right tools, it turned out perfectly. 10 out of 10 recommend getting a pro to do this to save the headache.

Sadly I cannot recommend the Wonderfulhz screen protector. I installed it the end of last week and everything looked great. No bubbles and great fitment. Yesterday I head to go have drinks with the guys and park the 4Runner. When I had returned to the vehicle the screen protector had a circular crack all the way around the screen which I am guessing was due to being parked in the heat. Ended up just pulling it off and tossing it in the garbage.
