Just got my 22 ORP on Saturday. Excited to start this adventure with my wife and 3 year old son who couldn’t be more excited. He loves trucks. His excitement will be the best part of all this.

Story on buying. Have been searching for about a month. Was in contact with dealers. Of course everyone was marking up the price plus other crap these dealers are doing these days. Came across this one. They told me it had a markup. I played them against another dealer. They dropped the markup if I agreed to buy.

Got the OTD price way before stepping into the dealer. Had them send me the purchase order signed as well. After that I got my credit union check for the difference of what my down payment was going to be. First and only time I went into the dealer was to get the 4r. Everything was setup through email. I did it this way on purpose. Since I had the funding in order with no dealer financing. They were basically jus ther to sell it to me. Kind of a cash buy per say. Was in and out in under a hour. Didn’t waste time in the finance dept. signed what was needed and I was gone.

Looks great! Love the 4runner in black - especially with the pro grille.

So if there is some leeway for dealing, maybe demand may be going down due to the gas prices?

Well this was the only dealer who budged with me. Don’t think gas prices are affecting anything. 4Runners are super rare this year. They are sold before hitting the lot. Specially if you want some upgrades like mine. With the xp package.

Are you telling me that our 4Runners aren't fuel-efficient? I hadn't noticed as I put in 2.2 gallons for $10 earlier.

I think it is compared to my 01 Tahoe lol...been averaging 17-18 mpg & achieving more miles than the miles to empty says.

Man, that's pretty. Son approved, it appears. :D I'm still waiting for a similar one (black Off Road Premium). I'm starting to get impatient and looking at other trucks.

Welcome! Very nice choice. I have the identical in the off road premium. I paid msrp about a month ago but i had been looking at trucks. Decided to keep the old work truck Tundra with 200k and added the 4 runner to the stable.

Beautiful ride! Here is a picture of mine fresh from the detailer and I just turned 1,000 miles. Like you, my 4 year old son shares my excitement of my new 4Runner. I tell him its his truck and I'm just taking care of it until he is old enough to take over. I added the 1" front Cornfed spacer lift (absolutely love the stance now), some 265/70/17 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs, window tint to match the back and I undercoated the whole underside with Cosmoline since I live in the rust belt. I am just going to enjoy it from here on out! Good luck with your new runner.IMG_1665.jpg

nice. smart move getting financing done off site. I always do that. nice working out the details with people who at least halfway care about your financial situation without the sales clowns hovering over you. and beautiful truck!
and a side note...4Runner numbers must be a little low...had our local stealership call me yesterday wanting to 'appraise" my 2019 SR5. just for giggles, I went there this morning. they wanted me to sign papers that I would sell if we agreed on price but I declined. they looked at it anyway. I have 56k miles on mine and she's perfect except for one ugly dent in the tailgate that I expected to drag value down some. Still, I stifled a giggle when dude offered me $25k .....pretty sure even with the dent, I could get closer to $30 k for it. plus I don't really want to sell anyway

I think you (and my wife) have re-steeled my resolve. :D I just have to say, again, your truck is perfection (I love the "heritage" grill). Hopefully, in another month or two, I'll have my 4Runner in hand, as well. I hope you and your son have some great adventures in yours.

Had to take quick scenic view pic. Already added grill lights, TRD grill emblem and fog tints. Small mods but makes a difference in appearance imo.
