I have become convinced that my 3rd gen '98 is a far better vehicle than my 2016. It will run circles around my 5th gen under any curcumstances. I love the ride and luxury of the 5th gen, but in no way does it compare to the 3rd gen. I love it and I hope it lasts a lot longer. The 2016 will remain, primarily, the highway/grocery vehicle.
Keep those 3rd gens in good shape guys...they are the best gen. !!!

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
My 99 with 352,000 on it runs great! I sincerely doubt I'll get another vehicle in my lifetime. I keep my pickup around for emergencies, should I need to put the 99 in the shop for a day or three. I love my Little Truck. It took me to work so many times...

I like the 99 so much because of a number of reasons. It's a MT first, it's in awesome shape, barring a few minor details, like the radio antenna is missing. Ooooo-aaahhhh. BFD. A big reason, for me, is it's simplicity. No huge electronics suite to worry about breaking, no big suspension systems to fail, like KDSS, and so on. It's like my pickup and 87 4Runner that way. Simple, basic, easy to work on, and so forth.

    Have fun, all!
    Pat☺

It has never once let me down. Even got home on a dead battery towing a boat it was the batteries’ last crank.

I’ll never forgive myself for trading in my 2001 with only 105,000 miles on it. Gah!

Couldn’t agree more!! Sometimes I forget my ‘02 Limited is 20 years old. She runs like a dream.

Now I see this! After selling my 1999 T4, 22 years and never let me down, not even a flat tire. I just couldn't justify having 2 and a tundra. Like my kids, they grow up and you gotta let them go. 20220111_221524.jpg
