Hey first post here, I'm Alex and my 3.0 engine blew. lol

Im thinking about a 3.4 swap and after so many threads reading, I still have so little grasp on what parts are needed for the swap. I don't know much about 4runners or cars and plan to learn it all during this swap. I know it's tedious but if someone had like a concrete list of every part that typically needs to be provided to make this swap.

Also, how much does this kit cover? https://www.yotashop.com/5vz-swap-t...ickup-truck-engine-swap-install-kit-kit-3030/

Thanks and happy to be a part of the community now!

Rebuilt Engine MLS and ARP on the heads, DT Header, 2-1/2" CARB compliant Flow-Master CAT with 2.0" Bosal CAT back Dayco 1-1/4" Spacers, SkyJacker M-Series Monotube Shocks, Ball Joint Spacers. 95-9006 K&N Air Cleaner, G-Plus Alum Radiator, ZIrgo 16" Fan, Derale Temp switch/relay
You might want to go a bit bigger and add two more cylinders and do the 1UZ-FE instead. The effort will be almost the same but you may find the 3.4 has been more readily explored than what I am suggesting. There are a fair number if Facebook groups out there that cover this swap as well. Good Luck!

@atgparker this would be a much more expensive swap though, correct? From what I've seen it's much more of a headache and just naturally way more expensive

I cannot say with any real certainty but the fact that the 1UZ is a V8 certainly will have issues with fitting it into a V6 sized engine bay in our 4Runners. But it can and has been done by many and that is why the 1UZ really has my attention and would be the way I'll go if I ever blow up my 3VZ-E. Having owned and maintained a 4.6HSE Range Rover for 16 years with 240HP it is hard to not have that sort of power with the 3VZ-E.20180602_142301.jpg But the Land Rover was a huge pile of crap to live with and is so much the opposite from the reliability our Toyota's exemplify. The 3.4L V6 is a great engine with excellent valve train which is were a lot of the added power comes from as well as the fuel efficiency when compared to the 3VZ-E. So, I would take heed of your common sense and seek out YotaMasters for some insight on what is needed. They are in Corona, CA and have done this a fair amount. Best of luck with your swap it is with definite envy that I shall have to be in as you go through this experience.
