I make these (I sell on Etsy too but look at my thread). I basically do them at my cost for Forum members. I basically do it as a "Jobby" now. I haven't played with gloss on matte before though. Currently I am waiting on a Topo vinyl for a few people that asked about that.

I also make strips to protect from the windscreen gasket on roof racks like pinsu etc

Another easy fog light test for the Limited. Sharing if anyone thinks Limited fog light bulb swap is hard.

2014 Neglected by the previous owners 2020 is an abused former rental... 2023 New I've been buying above my pay grade ☹️
I finally installed the front facing dash cam ony 14SR5.

While I like the features and the picture quality, I have to say that the Viofo brand has poor quality control and, overall, sucks. Being that I've installed four other of these units into the family's vehicles, I'm sticking with the form factor.

Even after testing out the parking mode power supply prior to installation, it failed after I routed all the wires around. So, I had to order new ones that took a couple of weeks to receive and finally found one that works and worked after installation as well. I've only gotten 1/3 of the units to work after installation. Most of them fail during the initial test. I've learned to leave it jumped onto the battery for a few hours because initial power up does not mean anything to these stupid power supplies. All I can presume on this post installation failure was that there was a wire that wasn't firmly connected to a circuit board. I am really careful with stuff, I exposed the wire to no hard to pulling or anything like that.

A tip for dash cam installation: I use post-it notes to Mark out where to install the GPS base plate. I've tried to use things like painters tape and whiteboard markers, the post-it note works best. Nice straight line and right angles on the sheets.

When I install the rear facing camera near the rear gate, I will post again. I have a game plan to mount it up on the headliner using a platform. Not like the videos I've seen from one of the dash cam sellers where the guy put something way too big and way too dangerous sticking down.

By the way I highly encourage dash cam usage on all of your vehicles. Numerous, many, many, many numerous issues have arisen that were captured on camera. One time it caught a reckless driver trying to zigzag through a lane reduction from four lanes down to one and he rear-ended somebody really badly. It also settled my concerns when one of my children had an at-fault accident. I absolutely know that there was no cell phone usage, just speeding (20% over the posted construction zone speed limit) and not following all of the driver's training from Dad and a professional teacher. Because of that accident, I am making $26,000. The gift contract with my children include that the car is free to them as long as they don't speed, use mind-altering substances, etc. So my gift Toyota became a loan... Doh!

When ya lead off with saying that the camera your post is about sucks, it kinds makes ya not interested in the rest. Why install it if it sucks? No thanks, homey. Natika is the way to go.

Changed the oil. Guess which part didn’t come apart and I hate the most ?
Here is a pic of the part that is always a troublemaker. Am I the only one hating this ?

Did mine 3 days ago. Still have a knot on my head from when that small filter plug finally broke loose and I fell backwards under my truck. Ha ... Yes. But not sure it's better or worse than a standard canister filter.

Yeah I did that to my wife’s Sienna. The tool that the dealership sold me would not get it off. The dealership that I had change the oil put it on so tight that I couldn’t get it off. I literally broke the housing trying to get it off . So I called the dealership and they replaced the part. The other dealership that put the oil filter housing on so tight sold me a better tool and it fits so much better. Apparently it is a snap on brand or something. So hopefully this should not happen again. Btw the 4Runner oil filter housing is ~$150 whereas the Sienna was $48. Get the right tool and hopefully that will help.

To get her oil filter housing off I used channel locks and I literally had my entire body weight on it. I wish Toyota would stop this dumb design as it is a royal pain. I find tapping app over the place helps as well. I had tried with breaker bar, impact wrench, etc. and nothing worked (not even the channel locks after trying 4x’s. The tapping helped a lot.

Yep agreed its Toyota's way of telling everybody go kill yourself. I wish someone at Toyota would explain the logic behind the design. Id also like to have a few minutes with the engineer in an MMA ring.

My apologies, I have suffered too much emotional and brain damage.

Westcott Sliders arrived after a few long weeks. Super stoked on the quality and overall look on the rig. Opted for no kick out.

Installed OEM crossbars. Trying to decide which roof basket to get. I like the Yakima that comes on the Trail Edition.

Check the clearance for the clamps. I have a Skybox and the clamps rubbed the paint. The OEM X-bars aren't high enough.

Yes, I am a bit concerned about that. Supposedly, the Yakima basket fits. Worst case, I’ll have to get their crossbars. Luckily, the OEM bars I bought were very reasonable. Thanks!

So disconnect link update. I hate them, So does my wife. Nasty loud clanking and banging. Them and the sway bar are coming off. Also ordered a cfx3 45 and the fancy cover after the 85 degree ice melt we suffered out this weekend. Found a 15 percent off discount so I jumped on it and saved $180

Disconnected, sounds like the vehicles falling apart. I was ashamed driving by other people cause I’m sure they assumed my rig was trash. Lol they gotta go, do not waist your money

Man I am super bummed to hear that. I was excited and hopeful that it would work out because it seems like it is either fully connected or fully disconnected.

Yea I was hopeful too. But there just not gonna work out, road a good bit of highway and city with them disconnect and had no noticeable body roll,so the whole front sway bar is just gonna come off

Let me know how that works out for you with all extra weight and such. I am not concerned about daily driving and making turns. I am concerned on making immediate turns to avoid deer or something else requiring immediate movement.

Yea that’s what I’m thinking. Like I said I drove around on the road a hood bit unhooked and it had less body roll than a stock 4r. But who’s to say in a hard brake and steer. But mines not a dd so I sappose it’s less if an issue for me

If they quiet when connected, maybe they wont be so bad in a primary DD role, just to have the flexibility for off roading….

Plus all that clanking when disconnected might make everybody think Im super serious about 4wheeling ;)

…so…. how much do you want for those pieces of junk ? :computercoffee:

Looks great but that's got to be about the smallest garage I've ever seen.

lol it is a 1 car garage. The wall to the right is another garage for our second car (Apartment community) there is plenty of space on the sides considering its a Runner in there.

Maybe it’s a town house with a single car garage. I had one similar when I lived in Hawaii.
